He is so evil that the mere mention of his name makes Satan weep February 18, 2008

His name is John Adams, his bio follows:

John Adams has been sports editor/columnist for the Knoxville News-Sentinel since 1987. Adams, a sports journalist for 30 years, is a graduate of Louisiana State University. He has been honored 11 times as Tennessee’s best sports columnist and six times as the Tennessee Sportswriter of the Year by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association. He also was honored in 2001 as the best sports columnist in the Football Writers Association of America annual writing contest. He has worked as a sports columnist in Jackson, Miss.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Jacksonville, Fla. Email him at Adamsj@knews.com.

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of Bama more than lovers of the Vols;

Here is Adams’ latest effort to have the Great Battle Captain fired [Fulmer], this article will do one thing he likes: It will make bammers and other haters of UT happy. John Adams’ dislike of the Vols goes back…back…back. I do not see how he manages to keep his job in Knoxville.

As the great band Jackyl  [link] once stated with the Big Orange Nation on their thoughts:
Push me on off of the ledge
I’m standing with my toes hanging over the edge
Not worried about a push coming down from above
I’m ready for you
When push comes to shove

We as Vols face our greatest test as we stand on the precipice of a civil war inside the Tennessee family. The coming months will force every Tennessee fan to make a choice; You will either stand with Coach Fulmer or or you will stand against him.  Coach Fulmer, our Battle Captain, and true Vol fans have no interest in listening to the whining bitching  of Tennessee turncoats and “fans”.  Remember Vols, it was Fulmer that stood against Bama and her cheating people-buying ways.  That has to count for something!!  GBO and RTR!!!

In my mind, it isn’t about getting rid of Fulmer. That’s not going to solve the problem. The problem rests with young men acting like young men - and generally that means they’re acting stupidly.

lawvol had a nice article about this, and I intend to write a piece, but not about firing Fulmer. There is a much bigger issue involved here.

2. Sad State of Affairs - February 19, 2008

They don’t need to fire Fulmer.

3. TideDruid - February 19, 2008

Think the NCAA regrets getting rid of the policy where the players stayed at the athletic dorms all 4 years?

4. John Majors - February 19, 2008

Thing about it is John Adams could write circles around any of you internet All Stars.

Newspapers are about sellings ads, Ads gets sold if you sell papers, therefore why would KNS have some Tennessee apologist, stroking Fulmer and his alread inflated ego?

If they did that no one would read nor would they care to pick up a article that says, “Not Fulmer’s Fault”.

John Adams is your alls daddy and you all know it.

So why hate?

Jai

That link to “Dick Dancing”, is that really a Tennessee Board? Good God almighty, those guys are horrible if that it is a true Tennessee fan is suppose to act.

I need eye bleach after reading some of that venom.

Are you 100% sure that they are not Bammer?

First, you are right. Adam’s article made me happy. Not 41-17 happy, but happy. In truth, I want Phat boy to stick around. Saban has his number on the field and he smacked UT’s ass in Tennessee recruiting this year. Those trends are only going to continue. Your rocky top redneck lies that tried to get Bama killed came close but failed. I will cheer against that lying, cheating fat boy until the day I die. Roll Tide.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

John Adams is Larry Flynt and his atricles are my Hustler. I am going to go jack the fuck off right this very second. When I read him lay into Fulmer it makes my balls sweat. Im gonna jack off on the fuckin lamp, the floor, probably my dog. It is going to be fucking awesome. Fire that Fat Fucker. Bye Phildo!

11. NoogaVol - February 19, 2008

Saban won a game against Tennessee at Alabama. Big fucking deal.

Shows how far your loser ass program has fallen when you count one victory as “having Tennessee number”. That is wishful fucking thinking. Tennessee would have creamed Bama at the end of the season much like they did georgia…another one of Bama’s 6 losses. Suck my dick ya dickstring

Bama cheats

13. AngryEer - February 19, 2008

It’s not like these kids are knocking off banks (Bama), firing assault AK’s (Florida) or buying weed from undercover cops wearing their game jerseys (Florida again).

I admire your loyalty, Jai.

LMAO at Nashville Crimson!

15. MoonDog - February 19, 2008

Adams completely missed the primary issue here. It isn’t about firing Fulmer - that isn’t going to resolve anything. It’s a classic example of some nit-wit in the media righting an article based on a knee-jerk reaction instead of looking at the big picture.

Why would anyone want to fire the Coach? The Vols are 23-2 and #2 in the country!!!

Wait, there’s a football team?

20. Mike - February 20, 2008

I would be very happy to see Fulmer stay at Tennessee for some long time. Think Bowden at FSU.

Players off the field conduct should not be THE reason for Fulmer to go, but it is one of the reasons why I believe it is time for a change ( poor on the field performance over the last few years, coaching defections, poor recruiting ). It appears to me that Fulmer has lost his fire, and has been going through the motions for the last few year to keep collecting a pay check (a very good one). We have been in a slow slide to mediocrity for years, and a new coach is needed to re-energize the program.

Volunteer faithful who believe it is time for a change should not be afraid to say so, and are far from being turncoats or “fans”. Ignoring a problem, avoiding any discussion of the issues, and blindly supporting the program does not address the problems and will not make things better. We need to take a hard look at program, recognize areas that need improvement, and evaluate all possibilities for improvement (popular or not).

My opinion is that a change is needed. Not being God, I recognize that I am not all knowing and could be wrong. I hope I am. I continue to support the team, and wish that we will have a 2008 season that will make all Vol fans proud. If we do, I’ll proudly admit being wrong. If we don’t, I hope those who refuse to admit we have a problem will accept the need for a change.

Go Vols!

23. zigzag - February 20, 2008

@22 Excellent assessment. A little long winded for me and General Neyland, but you get a 9.5 from both of us. Fulmer does seem to slip in and out of a nostalgic coma from time to time.

I feel that the easiest decision for phil would have been to kick britton off the team. he knows the kid better than even john adams does! phil did what was best for the individual..not britton the ut athelete or britton the nfl prospect, but for the person!
and while i am at it, does anybody have a contact at the knoxville journal> if so, pass on the idea of starting up a daily paper. i would dump the kns in a hearbeat…strickly because of my distain of john adams!
