Dear John
Dear John
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to help Coach Fulmer with righting the sinking Tennessee
football battleship. We almost have become the Georgia Tech of the SEC, except that we actually spank UGA on a regular basis. Anyway, does it really matter if your advice was unsolicited ? I don’t think so. It is kinda like one of those interventions that you see on on those reality shows. Like Dr Phil or Dr Drew fixing up some addict.
Since you are done such a good job of fixing, there are some other programs that can use your help. Here is some “leads” starting with your alma mater, LSU:
LSU’s Ryan Perrilloux ..gambling and money laundering …SUSPENDED, not kicked off team, and now kicked off the team? I really lost track if he is on the team or not.
There was a big ass bar fight with some 6 or 7 LSU players; one player just returned before the SEC Championship game… NO Dismissals….
Then how about the 7 players with infractions at Alabama just this year…How many dismissals at Bama? I know that you were getting cozy with the Birmingham media after your “Fire Fulmer” column was printed, so you have an inside source….John, you got to love the houndstooth wearing gun toting 2 star felon at Bama over the weekend….John can you write about that little felony?
Lest we forget about Florida and all their AK-47s and dope buying/smoking problems with their football players [top 10 gator arrests ]….John how many thrown off team in Gunsville?
How can we not forget UGA’s DUIs and street fights and South Carolina’s gun wielding, car keying, knife fighting and mota issues [link ]and what about Arkansas, Darren McFadden’s bar fights or all of Houston Nutt’s text messaging?
Let talk about the real cover up with Michael Oher at Ole Miss who injured a 3 year old, beat a fellow player up Antonio Turner and the media, a University Vice Chancellor, Head Coach and assistant coaches, Ole Miss Police didn’t report the incident until the book, “The Blind Side” was published and told of the incident. Or the “Jerrell Powe can’t read” fiasco?
And Auburn has had some serious academic issues.
I can understand your vendetta against Fulmer. Who can blame your corndog smelling coonass (I mean that with all due respect) for unleashing on him? This kind of treatment is plain embarrassing for a man of your position. Just look what the fat one as done to you:
a) The Fat One closed practices to the media
b) Fulmer doesn’t capitulate to media pressure (except for playing Rick Clausen)
c) UT banned fellow Knoxville News Writer Dave Hooker from stepping on campus
d) newspapers must do anything they can think of to generate interest and stay afloat
I don’t want you to tell me that you don’t cover those schools. I want you to fix those schools like you are fixing our beloved Vols. Oh wait, you are not from Tennessee or a Vol fan. Sorry about that John.
Think about this John, there is not another big time college town newspaper in the country that would allow a sports writer to rip the college football program the way you have ripped Fulmer for all these years. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Great piece Jai. We both know Adams is one of an ever-growing list of “professional” journalists who see the handwriting on the wall. The mindless opinions of people like him and Stephen A. Smith are veiled attempts to keep what few readers of print media they have.
More people read blogs every day because they know they’ll get honesty. Not to mention, it’s free. Of course, Alabama fans won’t read because, well, they can’t read.
Well done.
Poor, poor Tennessee. Poor, poor Fulmer. I think it’s just a conspiracy against the fine championship caliber program there in Knoxville. I am shocked that anyone would be bold enough to point out flaws in your flawless program. Plus, compared to all those other programs Tennessee is full of choir boys; They’re not away from church, helping the homeless, or football practice, not to mention studying, long enough to get into real trouble.
Thanks for this post Jai. You made my day and I couldn’t be more serious about that. Just like the Knoxville area all-you-can-eat buffets I hope Phil stays there forever.
I agree with Moon Dog, well done. (of course I got a Tennessee Fan friend of mine to read this and type my reply for me).
@2, War Damn Eagle fellow AU fan!! You fucked up in your comments. Real Bammeroids can’t read or write……
But I will play along with your ruse…talk to me about bama’s accomplishments since the Bear-Messiah era ended. or about mike price, “it’s rollin’ baby!” or dubose and his “girl friend”. but, those guys probably had a mama who beat them in the head with a hymnal at rose road church when they were 6 years old…so, you can’t blame them. but when i look at the coaches bama has hired in the past, i question the alabama elite and their judge of character…including their hiring of Saban…but, again, Saban is good for auburn so keep him.
Ears,
I’m having a good day at the expense of Jai and UT. We can continue the Alabama/Booger Eater war some other day.
In all seriousness, Auburn is having a good run and I hope you enjoy it. College Football and its rivalries, like life, run in cycles. It will not always be that way, so enjoy it while it lasts. You can’t stay on top of the mountain forever.
I would also be shocked and amazed if you looked from the plains and approved or were delighted in a coach your rival hired.
3 – Are you seriously asking what has Bama done since Bear? For one, they doubled up on AU’s total national championship count by winning one in 92. They’ve won a few SEC championships (and the same amount that Aubren has since 99).
I agree that one NC and a handful of SEC’s does fall below the bar set with the tremendous successes of Bear Bryant, Frank Thomas, Wallace Wade, etc., but it still is actually better than many programs ever experience over the lifetime of the program.
Kind of like a program that only has 1/2 a NC and just surpassed GA Tech on the SEC champ list a few years ago.
Hey, but recent success is all that matters and is a concrete and unwavering indicator for how it will be for the rest of time, right?
Lester Miles is the Coach to beat in the SEC. 3-0 against the roids, old miss, state; 2-1 aganst the barn, the Nutts, Herban and Fat Phil; 1-0 v Vandy and the Old Ball Sack; 1-1 v K-Y; 0-1 v Ooga, but we getim in death valley this year and payback is a bitch.
Adams is after Fulmer’s ass, but you can’t justify bad behavior by other bad behavior. Stirring up controversy wakes up the interest and maybe it will wakeup Fulmer. There is a lot wrong with losing to Alabama and Florida 100-37, but on the other hand there is nothing wrong with winning the SEC East and beating a Big 10 team in a bowl game. General Neyland(Organ crescendo) would give Fatso a B-. Would Adams and the Vol fans be satisfied with a repeat of last season? Not no but hell no.
#3 – I’m not a barner, I’m a VOL – but I’m just having some good-natured fun with our friends from the land of houndstooth and crimson. If you really want to get me worked up, let’s talk about the Gators.
How are we supposed to be that fired up for Bama anyway? We’re 10-4-1 against them over the last 15 years. They know Shreveport better than they do Tuscanasty. Travel agents in Shreveport refer to their town as Shrevloosa.
Give Him Six!
Ears – Waiting on that response
Sad State, you are wrong as usual. i am not intimidated by anything from the past because i live in the present. i know that is something bama fans cannot comprehend, but it is possible. you should try it for awhile if it’s not too painful.
what is wrong with Ryan Perrilloux
