Fulmer pwns John Adams February 22, 2008

How much longer will Phil Fulmer take the body punches being meted out by the Godless drive-by left wing liberal press and traitorous “fans” before he leaves for greener pastures? This was a question that weighed heavily on the hearts and minds of all true Vols fans, until he answered [Link] like an Old Testament avenger.  Phil Fulmer wreaked Biblical vengeance upon the “bad man.” This was not the grace of the New Testament.

I hope that he continues to display the tough “gut check” like he has instilled in his players. Like a vengeful messiah figure who does not wait for judgement, Fulmer kicks Adams squarely in the world’s smallest testes.

Mr. John Corndog Adams, it might be time for you head back to Baton Rouge and try pulling these shenanigans on Lester Miles.

Don’t be surprised if John Adams’ poison words continue to dominate radio and print outlets in the world of liberal drive-by-media. This a world where programs like Tennessee are judged by kangaroo courts. In courts where proud schools like Tennessee are at a decided disadvantage.

Mr. Adams is hooking up with anyone who will listen to his manifesto of hate. I would be surprised if he was not a card carrying Trailer Park All Star at the Leper Colony (Monvolia) dick dancing at the article [link], no girls allowed of course. Har har haw haw (those are the words they used for laughs)

Don’t believe me? Then why is he exporting his Taliban brand of Fulmer hate to Finebaum (Bammeroid) and 790 in Atlanta (UGA)? He is purposefully attempting to destroy the program with his campaign throughout Dixie. Clearly this is a personal issue that Adams has decided to be taken public.

Hope you get that book deal, John. Geaux Tigers

Here is an email from friend that covers the timeline of the Adams hate-fest:

Anything to sell a newspaper, right? The Knoxville News has quickly become irrelevant under Adams. Now he is flipping the tables

… after the Clemson/UT Peach Bowl game, Clemson players said that they knew about the new formations and plays that had been practiced in a close practice while KNS sports writers were in attendance. Fulmer then closed all practices after that incident and has not opened practice to the press after that.

Another incident occurred when Dave Hooker (Adams colleague) was using his cell phone at practice and Bud Ford told Hooker to turn off his cell phone and Hooker kept on talking. Hooker was ceremoniously told by Bud Ford he was not to be around for a month or so. Remember…UT had a policy and Hooker thought that he was not going to comply, so Hooker is closed out. WAY TO GO BUD….UT rules and Hooker broken them.

After the Clemson game, Chris Low started getting all the breaking news for the Tennessean in Nashville and before anyone in the Knoxville media ,especially KNS, and it was at least 24 to 48 hours before KNS publishes the stories….KNS and Adams wanted to know why they were being shunned….. go back to Clemson game is why

Adams wrote another negative article about not being able to attend practice and not being able to interview freshmen. That was the theme for the KNS and Knoxville radio jocks last summer and this past fall….

Then the article before the South Carolina game…..here again KNS and Adams were walking that tight rope and they have a noose around their own necks.

UT wins SEC and the KNS sports writers and Adams were hoping for UT to fail and hang Fulmer. All the KNS and Tennessean (Biddle), Memphis press and Bill King, small mike and other radio personailities were after Fulmer to be fired.

Adams writes his now famous Feb 19 article. Adams is now on Birmingham, Al radio 690 and blasting Fulmer. Fulmer is a “FAther figure to players”; no fear of Fulmer by players; lack of discipline on part of Fulmer; UT exceeds University of Miami football program in crimes,(hey, jaywalking is a crime), etc..On and on….Adams had glowing remarks about Saban( players at bama are fearful of Saban as per Adams )(hell I never want to be fearful of anyone I worked for or played for…you loose you values and morales then…my opinion).

Today, Adams goes on Atlanta, GA radio station and blast Fulmer again.

Adams now HAS crossed the line. Is this the image that KNS wants to have of being a rogue newspaper with a staff of outlaw sports writers? Or is this Adams farewell to UT and to KNS with these series of shots, since Bruce Hartman or Jack McElroy could have fired or terminated Adams contract.

I made this statement months ago and I am sticking by it.. A Knoxville Police Officer said that KNS were paying hand shake money to police who would give them tips on incidents involving UT athletes…you put me on a witness stand and I have lose of memory..I forget

leave them the hell alone people!

2. Legend of a Nation - February 22, 2008

Everyone needs to leave Fulmer the hell ALONE!! HE is the coach at the University of Tennessee! HE is the one that has to prepare this team for their next NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! HE is the one that must put the rest of the teams in the SEC in their place! This is a HIGH-PRESSURE JOB! LET HIM DO IT!

3. Nooga Vol - February 22, 2008

@2 About time somebody gets it. Everyone knows our players are not that smart, and to deny them playing time is to deny them their future.

4. VolStar - February 22, 2008

You are delusional if you honestly think this is the best way to wield discipline.

5. SmithVol - February 22, 2008

Great players should be able to play no matter what their criminal record. Coaches have no right to take away their god given gifts to be FOOTBALL PLAYERS!

6. Pearl Jam 2008 - February 22, 2008

Phil’s right. I mean, it’s not like they tried to kill the President. He can’t be those boys’ daddy.

7. TebowisGay - February 22, 2008

Yeah. Good Job Phil!! Where do I get a shirt!!!!

8. Trooper Taylor - February 22, 2008

Wake up DA’s … Can’t you see the evil master plan unfolding before your very eyes? Who do you think the puppetmaster is for the Krispy Kreme Kid? Have you ever wondered why the only TV shots of Fulmer on the sideline are from the waist up? They don’t want you to see John Chavis’s right hand shoved past the elbow working his controls.

Chavis is the devil! You will see soon enough. He has a plan to take over power that would make Johnny Majors blush!

9. VolStar - February 22, 2008

this reminds me of david and goliath, except fulmer is both of them. he is big as that giant, but he is david too. trhowing doughnuts with his slingshot

10. Sad State of Affairs - February 22, 2008

It is seriously so pathetic that Fulmer actually responded to an opinion piece. Maybe he should worry about things like recruiting and coaching a football team instead of splitting hairs with someone who is paid to stir the pot.

Couldn’t have happened to a better guy, though…

11. J - February 22, 2008

I agree….clearly the best way to discipline kids is to run off the walk-ons and nobody first-time offenders while keeping the all conference punters after a 5th (but who’s counting) alcohol offense.

Crack that whip Phil!

12. Phil Fulmer - February 22, 2008

You men will be huffing my balls after I win a National Championship in 2008 with two classes of shit players and one class of weed smoking superstars. I will have won with less talent. I will have buttfucked your whole family. I can imagine it now, removing my jock strap and forcefully wrapping it around your faces strangling you and giving you a nice breath of jock oxygen. I cannot wait.

13. TideDruid - February 22, 2008

You do realize that Finebaum is a proud UT grad don’t you?

14. Sad State of Affairs - February 22, 2008

13 -

Don’t bring facts into the discussion. The other posters hate that.

Also, I am so thankful that, while Mike Shula didn’t work out as a coach, he had the dignity to go out without whining like a little bitch and write a response to Finebaum in the Press Register.

But I’m more thankful that Nick Saban doesn’t have time for this shit b/c he’s already out recruiting the next # 1 class. Man, it’s been a long time, but it’s going to be very fun to be a Bama fan in the upcoming years.

15. MoonDog - February 22, 2008

Phil probably should have left it alone, considering what Adams was trying to do. The only way to shut your detractors up is by winning games. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have that opportunity until the fall.

In the meantime, we’re stuck with this. I’ll give Adams credit for sirring debate among Vol fans. However, as Vol fans, we should be on the same page, regardless. We’ve allowed a nit-wit wanna be journalist to divide us on this and other issues.

I’m not drinking the Kool-Aid BTW, if Fulmer doesn’t produce this season, he needs to be held accountable. But for anyone to suggest he should be fired because his players lack accountability, that’s sheer folly.

What exactly is he supposed to do? He’s suspended players, he’s kicked players off the team and he’s disciplined them in countless ways. Ultimately it’s up to the players, not the coach, to act like big boys and do the right thing.

16. LL - February 22, 2008

@10 and @11: Couldn’t agree with you more.

17. Bodie Jackson - February 22, 2008

LL the master gator doesn’t like that type of discipline? I suppose you want Herban Meyer gone then, too? His discipline is a spectrum worse than Phil’s

18. LL - February 22, 2008

Bodie, trying to find fault with other programs and justify the Tennessee player arrests isn’t going to change things in Knoxville. The issue here is Fulmer and the Vols, not Urban and the Gators. And if you’ve read this blog at all in the past, you’ll know that I’m no fan of Urban’s discipline. But to say he is worse than Fulmer is just blasphemy (I reference John Adams’ column for the facts/list).

But what the hell. Just for kicks I’ll humor you with an example……

……..In 2006, Marcus Thomas, the Gators best defensive player failed a drug test. He appealed, and failed again. Served a 2 game suspension and Urban put down a strict set of rules for him to be able to remain on the team. Later that year, In midseason, in the middle of an SEC Title and National Championship run, Thomas disobeyed one of these rules. That’s it. Gone. Best Defensive Player, off of the team. While there have been several Gators that have been suspended for first-time offenses, I used Thomas as an example because he is a repeat offender.

On the other hand, we have Colquitt at Tennessee. Who has 5 alcohol related incidents (including 2 DUIs and at one point 3 alcohol related incidents in a 12-day span), plus a property damage and leaving the scene of an accident charge, and he’s still on the team. In the meantime, when a Tennessee walk-on or non-starter runs afoul of the law, Fulmer rules with an iron fist and doesn’t hesitate to kick them off of the team.

Bottom line: Urban and The Gators should be the least of your worries right now. Move along and try to fix what’s broken in Vol Nation.

19. SLV - February 22, 2008

@18. Are you freakin’ kidding me? Puffy Thomas tested positive and played the UT game, then sat out against nobody U. Then Hydro Moss tested positive and did not sit out So Car game but a later game. LMAO at you trying to defend Herban. What about all the off field shat UF had last year …… no real press cause everyone was on Herban’s jock for winning the NC. Keep losing 4 games a year and see what happens. It all goes to show you nothing matters but the Ws and Ls ……. just ask John Brady.

20. LL - February 22, 2008

SLV:

Pay attention. I used one fuckin’ example. Read my post again. Most notably where I said - “I’m no fan of Urban’s discipline.” Also, feel free to read any of the archives on this board where I have said the same many times, asshat.

“What about all the off field shat UF had last year”. Living in the past and trying to justify UT’s troubles by deflecting attention elsewhere. No one is denying that Florida had off the field problems last year. Weak.

21. zigzag - February 22, 2008

Fatso should tell Adams to shove it up his lying ass. Those assholes want to fire the Donut King who, other than Neyland and Barnhill, has the best record of any coach ever at Knoxville. If the Vols have another good season WITH Chavis and WITHOUT Cutcliffe, then the doomsdayers need to be forced to feast on each other’s nethers.
