But really nowhere.  The Kentucky Blue are still convinced, as are the CBS commentators, that they are going to the NCAA tournament.  The referees for Saturday’s game were ready to do everything in their power to help.

Billy Gillespie would probably give a thumbs up to referees who made call after call for the blue faithful.

Okay so I will give props to Kentucky for sticking to a grind it out style, rebounding (Pat Pat had 14 pts and 11 rebounds, he’s making a strong case for Freshman of the year in the SEC), and denying Sonny Weems at the end of the game, but the 21 vs. 10 mark on personal fouls is ridiculous.  The wildcats shot 13 more free throws than the razorbacks.  The refs continuously made a call on the razorbacks and then allowed the same thing by the Kentucky defense.  I understand the home court advantage, but referee bias of this proportion is only found in the bluegrass state where the coffers of the Kentucky athletic department are opened to line the pockets of any referee that will assist the wildcats and their run at mediocrity.

If you want a specific call… just look at the out of bounds call on Beverly in the last minute when the ball was resting on a Kentucky player standing entirely out of bounds…  or the countless arkansas drives to the basket with Kentucky big men fouling, but the no calls from the refs especially to open and close the 2nd half.

On the road you have to be at least 10 points better than the team you are playing, but with a huge referee bias a la Lexington, you have to be another 7 points better.  Look for the hogs to take the Wildcats down to the tune of 75-63 if they play in Atlanta in 3 weeks.

Watch the Tennessee @ Memphis game this afternoon.  The tigers are an impressive team and better than any other team in blue uniforms and better than the vols.  The only weakness comes from the free throw line.

The bias at the FX is even more pronounced, the Vols can shoot 10 and make 10, while the Tigers shoot 20 and make 10, all =.

Arkansas fans never seem to change…there’s always an excuse for losing. It’s never “the other team may have just plain beaten us”. The officials seem to be the favorite target. Bigfoot, are you old enough to remember the “Pass interference, my ass!” bumper stickers?

When Kentucky was up 3 with 51 seconds to go, CBS (at least my affiliate out of Greenville, MS) switched to the tipoff of motherfucking Duke/St. John’s. Thankfully I am single and have no children. Otherwise someone would’ve gotten the beats.

Earlier in the year Kentucky plays Miss. St on the road Fouls favor KY 21-13 and MSU shoots 33 Freee throws to KY’s 12. It’s on the road in the SEC. Oh KY lost 69-65. Wah! Wah! Arkansas lost.
