Kentucky Basketball is full of fail February 28, 2008

Ah, Kentucky.

Six million people.
Fifteen last names.

Oh Billy Clyde, you should have stayed at UTEP or A & M. You would have been a legend. Now you are a political hostage.

I saw this UK blog and the following UT post [link]. Enjoy trying to protect your balloon knot on Sunday.

Billy Clyde Gillispie is focusing Kentucky’s attention on upcoming Tennessee game. In contrast to the rest of the sporting world, which is still focusing on Kentucky’s February 12th epic fail against Vandy [link].

(Tubby LOL’s at UK’s Fail)

Some people don’t like UK or their fans, something about being stuck up in regards to basketball and always talking about how UK is the greatest college basketball school in history. Very Bammer like [delusional].

Kentucky is rich with tradition, just like Texas Western and Holy Cross and CCNY and LaSalle. Everybody should respect them for who they are.

Note: Great, Greater, or Greatest? UK is is not. Not anymore. Kentucky Basketball is now synonymous with Jumping the Shark.

Good thing there is a movie where Rupp is portrayed as a blatant racist and that is what will stick in everyones minds so the radical UK propaganda will have no effect on the general populous.

UK is done for. They’ll make the tournament, because they’re Kentucky, just like Notre Dame continued to make bowl games for years even when they sucked.

Appalachian State beating Michigan is still the upset of the year. But dear sweet Jesus, losing to Gardner Webb must count in the top 5. Just in case anyone has forgotten, click the tumbnail to enlarge:

Done? Again, this sounds an awful lot like wishful thinking. Even on one of the worst years in memory, UK still has a 10-3 record in the SEC, regardless of what happened in Nashville… and to Gardner/Webb for that matter.

And if someone counters that the SEC is weak, what does that make Tennessee then?

Chris

At what point does uk say that they are bammer of b-ball and step back into 2nd tier status?

Florida and Tennessee are the future of the SEC .

Bruce Pearl is your daddy

Contrary to popular belief, not all UK fans resent the fact when other teams in the SEC are good. In fact, some of us embrace it. It just makes UK’s dominance look all the better. ;)

Believe it or not, I actually enjoy Bruce Pearl, although, I’m curious to see how he does when Lofton moves on…

Jai -

I love how you hate teams that have dominated their sports in the SEC and the nation in such a way that UT will never have a chance to catch up. And I love how you kick them while they are down and try to diminish their many accomplishments (a la Bama’s national titles, which, ironically, you reduce to a point that is still multiple times greater than UT’s!).

I love this b/c it makes me happy to know that you will always be going for the silver medal, no matter what sport you want to follow, and you will never see these records eclipsed by UT in your lifetime. I also love it b/c all these hate filled posts really show is that you are angry and jealous of schools like Bama and Kentucky.

You know, schools whose shining sport is in football or basketball, not in women’s basketball.

8. Sad State of Affairs - February 28, 2008

Oh, and I fully expect you and all the apologists to start spinning away with things like “Bama cheats!”, etc. and other garbage that just tries to shy away from the fact that my last post is the truth and you are not man enough to deal with it.

9. Jai Eugene - February 28, 2008

@7 I live to draw you out of the shadows, where you lurk. I know that other schools worry that if Alabama is allowed to retake the national spotlight that no young man will be safe from the grip of the Crimson Tide. The top High School recruits are all bound for Bama, be it a linebacker in California or a kicker in Maine, no one is safe from the reach of Coach Saban. Saban’s melodic description of the Capstone draws players to Alabama like sailors to the Siren’s song.

That’s pretty funny, Jai. And much more creative and clever than lately.

See, you need me to push you to be better.

and bama does cheat

I’d have to disagree with you regarding Kentucky making the big dance, but otherwise loved this piece - Ashley being the piece.

Funny. Despite your blogs accuracies and inaccuracies, Altanta, GA will be all blue March 13-16th. As always CATLANTA will be KY’s home away from home. Save to say Tampa will be invaded by KY fans next year as well.
Says a lot about the SEC and why the other contenders throughout the years turn out to be pretenders.

dear Jai, why the hatred? no the kats are not what they used to be, but for you that just opens the door for your team. facts are facts. and if i’m not wrong 26 out of 46 aint bad. but my hat is off to UT and what they have done this year. Pearl is a great coach, Lofton is one of the best pure shooters in the country (hes from kentucky by the way) and all those Smith boys are a good compliment to his skills. i wish them the best of luck in the NCAA tourny. you should be building up the sec not tearing it down. the better the sec is in a whole, the better your team looks.
