He15man is DayTripping over Idol star David Cook.  Daytripping?  That was the song that Cook sang last niight that has the excitable Gator excited :

I hope you’re reading this. I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved your rendition of Day Tripper. You looked so comfortable and confident, what Simon calls “smug.” If that’s smug, milk it, baby! Your vocals are totally rock star – a mix of Dishwalla, Vedder, Rob Thomas among others – and you really know how to kick your sound up when called for. I also thought the instruments backed up your voice with force – great arrangement! You really belong up there. And this performance upped your sex appeal! Good luck! 

David Cook has made my Top 11. He has proved that he is the true rocker in this competition and nothing will stand in his way to becoming the next American Idol. I have decided to throw my support to a solid fan fave this time. I struck out on Danny and the male stripper.  David Cook is my Barabaro!!

Did anyone see David Cook ‘s performance? He did the heart pound motion…just likeI do after a 1 yard gain!! Did anyone else see David put his hand over his heart right before the commercials!!! HE DID WHAT WE ASKED HIM TO DO! OMG I AM FREAKING OUT

Like I was watching Idol with Percy and after I saw David put his fist over his heart I was like “O.M.Gah!!! He did it!!” and then came my famous victory dance (remember every 1 yard gain? Just like that). Percy was like “He did what?! What’s gotten into you??” Ha!!!Ha!!! I know they must think I’ve completely lost it… I’m beginning to think I have too.

There IT is!!! Whee!

Ya know, I’d REALLY like to think that that was for us, b-but, the silly-it’s-too-good-to-be-true-skeptical part of me is wondering that it may just be a coinkidink. PLEASE tell my I’m waaay wrong!
This is DAVID’S time in the sun, NOT Chris Daugherty’‘.

Daugherty’s and Cook are NOTHING alike…..not there voices, style or looks. I love them both…..and actually, I think Cook is more versatile. He doesn’t remind me of just one specific artist….whereas, Daughtry reminds me of Nickelback big time. Don’t get me wrong…I went to the concert where Daughtry opened for Nickelback and I loved it.

I am also tired of the comparisons. It’s just not true. So here is my vote  on last nights performance:

Vocal Performance : 10

Stage Presence : 10

Overall Fashion: 10

Song Choice : 10

TOTAL = 40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
