Ron Zook on Florida Football: I was honestly surprised he said as much about Florida as he did considering it always seems like he likes to avoid the subject but he did take a few jabs at them. He said that “Florida didnt win their first SEC title until 1991 and now they think they invented football.”

The Big Ten is perfect for Zooker. The SEC (and UF) was just not the place for him. Good riddance.
Let him bad mouth UF all he wants. Bottom line is that he couldn’t get the job done and was a piss-poor coach at UF. When he was on Spurrier’s staff he was demoted him to special teams because he sucked so bad at defense.
He lost 2 games in 2003 where UF had the lead with under 2 minutes to play and he lost 3 games the next year with under 2 minutes to play. Including getting Croomed by an MSU team who had yet to win a n SEC game and lost at home to I-AA Maine.
I’m pretty sure that 1/2 of the posters on this blog could coach a Big Ten team for 3 years and at least one of those years win 9 games because that conference sucks so awesome.
Florida made El Zooker a millionaire…where’s the appreciation?
Zook would be lost trying to coach a goat to fart.
Wow, this Florida infomercial is awful. I am embarrassed for ESPN, Herbie..
Fowler, his ass-licks are expected
Gator cheerleaders = Valtrex prescription
All he did was tell the truth.
I hate Florida so much for ruining another NC year for Bama in 94. Spurrier was really in a class by himself in the 90’s. I’m amazed he only came away with 1 title. Still, fuck him for beating Bama.
You have to give Zook credit for one thing. A lot of the talent on the roster, particularly the players that helped win the BCS Championship, were recruited by Zook.
Great recruiter, bad coach – at least at GAYtorville.
“Great recruiter, bad coach”
Yep, that about sums it up, MoonDog.
#8 – I played for Zook – well, he wasn’t the head coach then, he was the secondary coach. Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I’ve been meaning to write a blog about that staff. Four current or former head coaches at major universities on the coaching staff when I played.
