Athlon’s Preseason #25: Fresno
The Bulldogs have lost this in-your-face tude.
Memo to Fresno State: You should join the Big East or the Big 10 Conference. You could go to a BCS bowl. Yes. It could be that easy. I am a bit weepy that Fresno has dropped that “Pat Hill goes anywhere and plays anyone” chip on your shoulder attitude [Athlon]. You fellas were doing it the hard way and people respected you for it. Now? Not so much.
But where the rubber meets the road is that Fresno’s performance of 76-51 in 10 seasons, with 17 of those losses coming to BCS teams on the road wasn’t getting it done. That mediocre record just ain’t gonna get you to a BCS Bowl game.
I reviewed the Fresno 2008 schedule and noticed the inclusion of the B-list BCS Conference powerhouses of Rutgers and Wisconsin. Solid move. These games can only help your program because ESPN has failed to recognize that the Big 10 and the Big East suck. ESPN will hype the living the shit out of these games.
Tip: When playing a BCS B-list Team (Big 10 or Big East), Never look directly at the vagina. Observe it only through panties, tight jeans, etc. Big Boy Football Teams should not look upon the yeasty womb of a Big 10 Team and live.
The smartest move by Fresno? Dropping SEC teams from the schedule. Chest bump Bitches!! See you in New Orleans or Glendale?
