At this point in his career, I have no confidence left in Arian Foster. He’s obviously a great person, he is a great athlete, he is a very good running back. But he cannot be trusted with the football. He is a fumbler. The debate is over. He cannot be trusted with the ball in critical situations.
There is no place on the field, no situation in any game that isn’t completely in hand or out of hand, that I will ever be able to feel good about Arian Foster carrying the football.
He doesn’t fumble, he Fosters. And as pointed out a billion times on this award nominated blog….his fosters are nuclear bombs. They are not your average, run of the mill turnovers. When Arian Fosters, the other team scores, and usually it is the game-winning touchdown as time is running down. At the very least, he fosters when we are getting ready to put the nail in the coffin.
It is what it is.

I don’t see Foster as the main issue on this squad but I do see his play as problematic.
The Foster fumble was the turning point of the game last night ( I even wrote on this topic today http://blogs.knoxnews.com/knx/perez/2008/09/the-morning-after.html ), but more importantly the way the team responded to the Foster fumble was more concerning that his play.
The Foster fumble was a huge mistake and at a crucial time, but the Vols had countless opportunities to regain control of that game…they didn’t.
I’m concerned more on how the team responds to adversity. The talent is there, and it showed last year against FL in the first Q, Bama in the first Q and UGA the entire game. But….once the Vols backs are against the wall…they blow it.
That concerns me.
Well put, it really is what it is. Fumble-itis has, and will be part of his legacy now, and forever. MONTERIO has earned it, let him have the keys to the car, as long as the kid stays healthy….hey…he runs down hill HARD.
As long as the coaches dont’ forget he’s on the sidelines, he’ll be fine.
It is what it is. Good one, LWS.
1-The talent is there? What good does it do you when it is mismanaged?
I predict Montario will run for break out 5 runs for 49 yards, and those will be the only rushes in the UAB game. Because for some reason we’re going to let our fucking QB throw the ball 40 times, and 20 yard passes every time.
FUCK common sense.
Foster has game-changing ability. Sadly for we Vols Fans- he almost always hurts the Vols more than the opposition. This guy is a Jonah- a good luck piece in reverse. Also, to me, he seems to think that he is on stage instead of playing football. All that preening really gets on my nerves.
How many Uclans would start for the Vols- 2 – 3 at the most. And yet, they win the game. I have been patient with the Fat Man , but enuf is too much. No BCS bowls since 99. God dang it- it is time to clean house over there. I was afraid that Coach Cut was the main reason we looked as if we knew what we were doing for most of last year . The Ucla game was a chinese cluster fuk!
Different Number, Same Ole’ Results
Top ten reasons Gators will win . 1 coaching 2. team speed. 3. Johnatan Crompton 4 . lack of pass rush -our ends are terrible when it comes to rushing passer. 5 Foster will have a HUGE fumble 6. poor linebacker play on passes. 7 lac k of discipline ( jumping offsides, etc) 8.Game is on CBS ( i have grown to hate Verns alcoholic voice) 9. receivers drop too many 10. Fulmer is 5-11 vrs Fla – not exactly inspiring , is it? Thanks for allowing me to vent
arian foster is a punk and a stupid puink at that. He cant play for me if I am the coach
