Big Orange Roundtable #9

One simple but direct question this week:

Who were you most disappointed in at UCLA, and what is your greatest concern for this team going forward?

0-3 when taking a bulk of the snaps, 0-3.  Jon Crompton was bad, he was worse than I ever believed possible.  We here at the LWS believed that the he has some *decision making* issues akin to the “IQ of a kicking tee”.  He certainly looked lost, lost as an easter egg throughout the game.

Crompton to his growing legion of critics: “Keep doubting me!” I am surprised that the Rose Bowl was big enough to contain all of those lasers passes that didn’t bounce at the feet of receivers

One of our regular commenters asked “What does Cromptos do on the sidelines?” It looks like he prays according to the espn footage, either that or he mumbles to himself.  Hey, Jon, go play catch with your WR’s, RB’s and heck, give Clawson a call for some coaching guidance.  Then again, that’s just me.  Maybe he should show deeper faith by handling snakes and washing feet?

I don’t really care if he can throw the ball “clear out of the Rose Bowl” – I would really prefer that he throw it to an open receiver.  I also wish that he  not telegraph every single pass by birddogging the primary receiver every throw.  How about going through your receiver progression rather than throwing to your 1st option every time no matter the coverage?  His arm strength is hardly impressive if all it means is that he can overthrow his receiver just as easily as he can underthrow a receiver – and he did both tonight far too often.

Another commenter hoped that Cromptos gets caught smoking weed so that he can be kicked off the team.  I chuckled.  The problem is that he needs to be caught like 4 times with the 4 strike rule.

I hate to think that he he best we got He’s our QB and I hope he turns it around for himself and the Vols.  But he was awful Monday.
