I suppose we are stuck with him at QB. I will try and think positive. Here is something “solid”. I remember his gutsy performance against South Carolina last year or it may have been the year prior but Ainge was out with an injury. It was late in the 4th quarter and we had the ball with the lead. All we had to do was run the ball, and the game was in the books. In preparation offensive staffs look at certain defensive schematics for check offs at the line. If the defense shows a certain look, you check to a pass. Pretty simple.
This was a moment in the game that did not require any sort of audible. All we had to do was run the ball, bang bang, game over. South Carolina knew they were on the ropes, so they came out showing that coverage just praying Crompton might be green enough to call the audible. Sure enough Crompton did just that, with everyone around me going bonkers screaming NO NO NO!!! Lucky our staff caught it too. Otherwise it would have been a pick. Trooper Taylor was looking at Crompton with a stare like, what planet are you on? Crompton had a look in his eyes, the one we see every Saturday? The Deer in the headlights look.
We were forced to call a timeout and ended up having to give the ball back.
I guess against Auburn we get to see that 13th outta 12 ranked QB laser guided, rocket fueled, nuclear powered, WMD arm as Fulmer rides the Crompton train right out of Knoxville.

Never have I seen a Tennessee team play with less enthusiasm than last Saturday nor have I seen and heard less enthusiasm from the Vol fans. CBS panned outside with eight minutes to go in the third and the exits were a sea of Orange.

Crompton Sucks ! HE IS probably one of your typical UT athletes-great physical specimen, but can’t pass a urine test or even write his name legibly. Finally, the coach has a son ! I CANNOT believe that UT played in the SEC Championship last year. THANK GOD LSU was beat up or it might have been as bad a game as when they played the ACC Champ. Va. Tech and beat them 41-7. LSU played that wonderful student athlete at QB and 2nd string QB that was kicked off the team. And then, a WONDERFUL moral victory by beat a struggling WISCONSIN team by a LOUSY 3 points in the 3RD place BOWL in Tampa. And in the 2nd PLACE BOWL MEECHIGAN defeats the arrogant Gaytors upping their record to 24-5-1 AGAINST GOD’S conference ! HAHAHAHAHA ! Hell, OSU would have beat LSU had it not been for the SEVEN HOMER personal fouls called against them on key drives ! And LSU, the MOST penalized team in the SEC did not get a SINGLE penalty ! Right ! GOD’s conference is FULL of hypocrites and cheaters ! So, for one of you to call the other a cheater it hilarious ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !
