Get your Shit And Leave, The Tony Franklin Story

(HT to KwajTiger who has always been a reliable source of information.  His sources are impeccable.)

Tuesday morning

At practice Franklin went nuts, beyond what you read in the paper, not only was he running around like a nut on the practice field but he would not allow any of the assistants to coach their positions, he was trying to do everything. In the offensive meeting that same day he really goes crazy ass nuts (a good friend of Franklin’s said he thinks Tony just lost it, like needs to go talk to somebody lost it).

He starts cussing out the players…in particular he calls Kodi Burns out in front of everyone and says “Burns if you were worth a shit you’d be playing, but your not!” He apparently became so hostile to a particular lineman that he and the lineman were restrained. When this occurs one of the assistant coaches tells him to calm down and Franklin says “Fuck you! Go tell Tubs, I don’t give a fuck what he says, this is my offense!

All of this is occurring while Tubs is in his CEO bubble…doing his press conference thing. When the assistants make Tub aware of what took place at practice Tubs calls Franklin and tells him to meet him first thing Wednesday morning in his office. Wednesday morning Tubs tells Franklin he understands the stress but he will not tolerate talking to the players on a personal level like that.  Franklin raises his voice to Tubs questioning how he runs the  program…Tubs then tells him to go to his office, get his stuff and get lost.

You might interpret this as a save face for Tubs version of the story but most of this came from a players Dad (the lineman that almost came to blows with Franklin) and a coach who is a good, good friend of Franklin’s. His last statement to me was…”This is all on Tubs, I told him last year that while Franklin is a good friend he should not hire him…there was no way he was going to be able to work with that staff.’”

Also, it is being said that while Tub’s was doing his best to defend Franklin, Jay Jacobs called Tubs and told him Franklin came to him complaining about Tubs.

Kind of fits with his MO at Kentucky.

The motherfucking God of the spread speaks on AL.com saying Auburn never bought into the spread.  You better listen to this man, he coached at Hoover, so you KNOW he’s a star!

Now they are reverting to the Nall/Ensminger tag team. This is the same duo that ran the O in 2003 that didn’t score a TD til the 3rd game of the season…and UTeat lost to THIS crap? WOW

Why didn’t Tubbs listen? It’s well known that the spread will NEVER work in the SEC. Just ask Urban Meyer.

The vaunted “spread eagle” attack has now come to this. Good luck, War Chickens. You’ll need it from here on out seeing that you just lost to the worst team in the SEC – at home. You may want to go back to just recruiting a lot of running backs and making them Sociology majors.

LSU stepped on their own feet. The gates just pushed them over. No help from the ’spread’.

The only spread Tebow can handle is the spreading of young boys of poverty riddled nations.

Let’s see, the kittens were 4W-2L when they told Coach Franklin to “get your shit and leave”. Since then they’ve gone 1W-4L….hmmm, yeah, I’d say that they made the right decision. Just keep on feeling sorry for your “good ole boy assistants” (that Tub wouldn’t let Franklin replace when he came on board) and those prima donnas that call themselves football players but in reality are just a bunch of cry babies. Maybe next year you’ll go 2W-10L and on your way to another season of getting your ass’s handed to you on a silver platter.

The reason we were -21 is because that Fat Faggat Phil narc’d on us to the NCAA about Albert Means when he got busted himself for paying off Tee Martin’s family. In the deal Fat Boy was granted immunity to present evidence about the payola but Tee Martin also had to exit, stage left. That’s the reason that the “premier QB of the decade” all of a sudden disappeared. Hence, Alabama was nearly given the “death sentence” and lost scholarships, TV time and bowl games for several years. BTW, don’t start with, “well that’s what I mean, Bama cheated” because if you think for a nano second that Bama and Tenn are the only teams that have boosters who ah, uh-hmm…”enhance the players family and contribute to their welfare” then you obviously haven’t been around Collegiate sports for more than a few months.
