He promised to take Tennessee football to new heights and he delivered. Yet we couldn’t stand by him one year removed from the SEC Championship game. Some things are more important than winning. There is a bigger picture that most people will never grasp. The damage is done and Tennessee won’t recover from this for a long time. The list of coaches considered to be potential replacements has accomplished less than Fulmer when you combine all of their acheivements. Mike Hamilton and the Tennessee administration is an embarassment.

His achievements included losing to Florida and Alabama the past two years to the tune of 0-4 and 159-52. To put that in perspective, Ole Miss is 1-3 against the same two with the points 111-102.
Past performance (accomplishment) does not guarantee future results.
Nobody questions his ability to coach but the fanbase has only one question. What is this years record and how has your coaching and team’s performance been recently?
It’s so badass that yall blasted Alabama for firing Shula – SHULA! – and then you go and do this. Just another in the long line of hypocritical statements spewed out by the Tennessee faithful during our down years.
I bet it makes you so mad that you just KNEW your fatass coach had finally gotten rid of Bama for good, only to see the day that Bama is #1 (with the worst team that the school will field for the foreseeable future) and isn’t going anywhere. Truly enjoy mediocrity, you’ll be there for a while!
Fat Phil manuevered the firing of Johnny Majors and now people are whining and sniveling that he’s been forced out after fielding yet another underachieving team. Tennessee is a pathetic shell of what it used to be as it has fallen far behind Jawja, the Gators and now even the freakin sorry-ass Lamecocks. Fat Phil got what he deserved.
