One thing that I thought might should be noted: this was between an LSU fan and a Bama fan, and the LSU guy was the one who got his pistol (and his girlfriend) and headed over to Bubba’s to confront him after the game. The LSU fan and his hapless chick ended up buying the farm as the other idiot redneck emptied his 12 -gauge.
As an aside, Jai, didn’t the Pinson incident also involve the Bama-LSU game?

I just re-read the full story, and although this looks a lot like a typical Alabama Saturday afternoon, it was actually the LSU fan who got in his truck and went over to the bammer’s house and started the altercation. The LSU fan also went BACK to his truck and got a pistol and went BACK to the Bammer’s house with it. The Bammer may be the killer here, but the LSU guy clearly has the edge in 1) escalating the alteraction and 2) raw stupidity (why the HELL did he go get the pistol???)

An Escambia County couple died Saturday after an argument
over the Alabama/LSU football game ended in shotgun blasts,
according to Conecuh County authorities.
District Attorney Tommy Chapman identified the people killed
as Dennis and Donna Smith of Appleton Road near Brewton.
The shooting allegedly occurred about 7 p.m. at the home of
Michael Williams near the Owassa community in Conecuh
County, Chapman said.
Williams was arrested, Chapman said, and charged with two
counts of murder.
Dispatchers at the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office
declined to comment about the case.
Investigators said witnesses told them that Dennis Smith, an
LSU fan, called Williams, a fan of the Crimson Tide, after
the game Saturday evening and an argument ensued.
Officers said Donna Smith was a relative of Michael
Williams’ girlfriend.
Soon, the Smiths arrived at Williams’ home and the men
wound up in a physical altercation, officers said.
Smith retrieved a pistol from his vehicle, and threatened
Williams, who armed himself with a shotgun and fired two
blasts, striking and killing Dennis Smith, officers said.
Donna Smith then threatened Williams, who shot and killed
the woman, they said.
Investigators said alcohol was believed to have been a
factor in the killings, and the investigation was ongoing
late Sunday.
Alcohol and football dont mix….the lsu fan brought the hardware, the BAMA fan was only trying to protect himself as any normal human being would have done….
If i recall several years ago at a UF -UcheaT game the same thing happend…uf fans killed a rocky flop!
#10 I would agree that anybody who gets in their car with a pistol and drives to someone else’s house over a football argument (in this case the LSU fan) is an idiot and liable to be shot dead. I also wonder, however, what transpired between the Bama fan and the recently deceased that led to this result.
Anybody has a right to defend themselves in their own house. But the utter insanity that this came to this point reflects badly on all concerned.
It should have been one of those 400 pound obese Bama women. She could have smothered the asshole with her gunt. BTW, the dimwit with the Glock was at a distinct disadvantage with the other bird brain holding a 12 Gage.

Dirt – from the news reports this brilliant woman picked up the pistol and brandished it in a “threatening fashion” AFTER her Les Miles-worshipping ex-hubby was blown away. That may be the single dumbest thing done in this entire idiotic incident. For the record, no one has said for SURE that she was an LSU fan – she was just dumb enough to have married one . . .
