An Open letter to Recruits
Dear Recruits,
As this long and drawn out process reaches its final days, and you begin to closely scrutinize the entire recruiting process, considering what will be best decision for you and your family, I’m sure that you will be consumed by a great deal of emotions that will make your forthcoming decision no easier. I’m sure that for all of you, this experience has been one filled with a gambit of emotions, not only for yourself, but your friends and family, as well. It has been a taxing experience not only mentally, but physically as well. And everyone from Coaches to the crossing guard who sits in front of your school has been telling you what they think will be the best for you, which school you should attend, and reasons they know what is best for you. This process would be overwhelming for anyone, not only an 18 year old young man whom is about to embark on one of great adventures of his life. Everyone rests the weight of the world on your soldiers, not realizing that they should instead play a constructive role in making this a positive experience for you and your family, and by making this experience a genuine celebration of your accomplishments, everyone wins. I would not dare to be presumptuous and tell you what I think is best for any of you, only my thoughts about the University which I attended and hold in such high regard.
The University of Alabama is a school rich in tradition, with a fan base that is rivaled by no other. Those that are most closely associated with the program, and those onlookers which observe from a distance, all say that there is something special going on in Tuscaloosa. Players, coaches, administrators, and all those that play a role in allowing the Alabama Football program operate at the highest level, believe that we will win championships in the coming years. If it were just one or two people that were saying this, you might have some good reasons to doubt this occurrence, but when everyone to a man believes that something special is brewing, I believe that it is prudent to take them at their word. Alabama is leading the SEC in graduation rate which should be one of the most important factors in selecting a school, because in the end, when your playing days have passed, that college education will be the cornerstone of your future in anything you decide to pursue. You will be surrounded by a great number of people that truly care more about your successes off the field and in life than they do in your performance on the field. They believe that if you succeed in the classroom and in life that success on the field will be a bi-product of your hard work and dedication off the field.
You all have already accomplished more than many people will ever attempt, but this is just the first step in a long road to greatness. You have all been chosen by a coach and a university that has a long track record of helping players develop into, not only great football players, but great men. The recruiting experience which is just days from its climax, forces you to make a decision which will have a monumental impact on the rest of your life. This decision is only one of many that you will have bestowed upon you, whether willingly or unwillingly, as you make your way through life. In the years to come, your family and friends which play such a crutial role in helping to make these type of decisions, will only grow, and they will not always have your best interests at heart, but at the University of Alabama, you will have an extended family that will always be there for you and will always put your interests above any special interest. The reason that we attend college is to prepare ourselves for the future, to obtain knowledge, and to enhance our future prospects.
As you all make this final recruitment decision, I hope that you will all make the decision that is best for your future, and will allow you to accomplish all of your goals and live all of your dreams. I hope that your friends and family, and ultimately you, will find peace with your decision and you will flourish at what ever university you decide to attend. Thank you for your consideration and Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Re: An Open letter to Recruits
I pity the fool that recruits against CNS, I pity the fool. I do!

I like that the booster talks about graduation rates while confusing “shoulder” with “soldier” and spells crucial as “crutial.”
Here is what he really said:
Dear valued recruit:
You may not be able to spell or know the difference between the armed defenders of this country and a part of your anatomy-do not fret. Our students and alumni are so damn dumb, we have the confidentiality (Ed note: had to misuse a word to make it authentic) that with the academic curve employed by our institution of “higher learning”, you will graduate.
Yours in perpetual stupidity,
University of Alabama Alumni and Football Supporter
You had to make that shit up, although truth is stranger than fiction.
I read it on Bama on Line
Sucks doesn’t it??, no even better it burns to the bone or boner in your case!
Lame Kitten…now that is pure gold! Vileville is just never going to be the same because they’ll never be able to beat Saban!
This is probably your best post ever….thanks for the picture, its been added to my faves…..the 2 Almighties!
Jai, I don’t know if you have seen this yet, but since you like basketball so much these days I figured you would be interested . . .
Mark Gottfrid has finally bitten The Big One and is out at Alabama. Jai, if you think Bama people are slow, you have concrete proof in the amount of time this brain-dead joke was allowed to spend courtside in Tuscaloosa . . .
Not like UT, where the coach with the Biggest Balls in Knoxville – a He-Man just oozing testoterone – roams courtside, adored by UT coeds who dream that he will someday be their lover. The Man Himself, Pat Summitt . . . .
I saw Gottfrid was shittcanned….Pinsoned if you will
I like that you have this tagged at the top with “Build a Bear.” I would like to have the Alabama franchise for mall “Build A Bear Bryant Shops” Instead of stuffing the bears with fluff, you’d stuff them with Jack Daniels, Unfiltered Chesterfields, and . . .well let’s not think about the other stuff that made up the Genuine Article.
You could hang the “Build a Bear Bryant”s like a pinata at tailgate parties and bust them to get at the whiskey and smokes inside. Can you imagine the sort of fistfights that would ensue as Bama chicks scrambled tgo grab their share of the goodies?
We did the Build a Bear theme back in 2006
Cool. Hadn’t seen it before.
at 4–what happened to Trent Richardson??? why the decommit? maybe he saw the email Jai saw.
