Bama Cheats: the 2009 Edition. Vols, Bitch

chestbump-saban-copy

In a knee jerk reaction to the Kiffin’s recruiting “addition by subtraction”  dominance and the fence being erected around Memphis, Saban/Bama got caught cheating (again).  Haste makes waste lil Nick. Logan Young would have never allowed this level of brown bag slop.

In the picture above, Nick redefines the “Bump” rule.  He bumped into the recruit like he bumped into that tree after post Christmas party after a couple of egg nogs.   Memo to Kiffin:  Here is a coach cheating.  If you want to hold a press conference, this is a very good time to call this greasy turd out for doing what Bammeroids do best.  Lynn Lang is smiling somewhere. [ht thomas from YMSWWC]

Just wondering when an SEC football coach is going to turn in Alabama coach Nick Saban on an apparent recruiting violation.

Saban obtained a commitment from Memphis Mitchell receiver Keiwone Malone, a high school junior.

The only problem is that other than a “bump” – which is an accidental “hello, how are ya?”- a coach can’t have direct contact with a junior at the time that Saban did (before signing day for seniors on Feb. 4). That’s a dead period (no contact) according to NCAA rules. [GoVols]

  1. Its just a matter of time until Bama gets nabbed again. They are habitual cheaters so its not surprising.

  2. It’s just a matter of time until Tennessee gets nabbed again. They are habitual cheaters so it’s not surprising.

  3. Yeah UT. Call a press conference to call someone else a cheater. That worked SO WELL the last time you did it.

    Don’t throw me in that Briar Patch Br’er Queefin . . .

Did you really just post that Jai? You are showing Lane-esque gray matter . . . .

By the by – look above. Ed does not know that “it is” contracted to “it’s” requires an apostrophe, but zigzag does. Shows which of those two are brighter. An – in a total nonsurprise – the smarter is the one NOT supporting UT . . .

  4. One other thing – where in that piece you post does it show any actual hard evidence Saban had illegal contact with a recruit? There is no “illegal meeting” actually cited.

What the post does – and not too cleverly – is imply that since Malone committed, there was illegal contact during a dead period. The concrete statement in the post that ” . . .Saban did” have contact with the recruit during a dead period is completely unsubstantiated.

Just like what Kiffin said about Meyer.

What you have here is an ASSUMPTION made from very little actual evidence. And when you ASSUME you make an ASS out of QUEEFIN. I know that isn’t the old joke, but we can all ASSUME that to be true from now on . . . .

  5. Here is a direct quote from an AP story about this:

“Saban’s visit did not occur during an NCAA-mandated Dead Period, as Malone is a junior and coaches were allowed to be on the road in late January.”

Your post is as wrong as Queefin. Well maybe nothing is quite THAT wrong . . .

  6. [...] Bama Cheats: the 2009 Edition. Vols, Bitch (Sports) [...]

  7. Where’s the link to this supposed AP story?

  8. That quote is taken from a blog posting and not an AP story.

Futhermore, the same blog explains why questions are being asked considering the rules states a coach can not have an extending greeting.

” known as the “bump rule” — allows a coach and prospect no contact “in excess of an exchange of a greeting,” per Bylaw 13.02.3 of the NCAA rule book. It is permissible so long as the coach, “does not engage in any dialogue in excess of a greeting and takes appropriate steps to immediately terminate the encounter.”

And yet the player in question states that Saban did not that just say hi.

“I had on my Dolphins hat, and he liked my favorite team, so we kind of bonded a little bit,” Malone told the Commercial Appeal last week. “And when he started talking to me, I started liking the stuff that he was saying.”

If this isn’t the case then maybe someone from Bama needs to shut up the player. With comments like that it’s easy to see how Saban might have cheated just a little.

  9. #7 do not dare call me full of shit.

I have never posted an accusation on here unsupported by fact, which separates me from Jai’s post, the Memphis paper’s article, and Lame Queefin.

Hre is a link to the “Mobile Press Register” story that is based on an AP wire report:

    http://blog.al.com/bamabeat/2009/02/tuscaloosa_keiwone_malones_hig.html

You guys have a lot of nerve. Unfortunatley not a lot of wins . . . .

  10. Press Register story direct link – NOT a blog, liars:

    http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/mobileregister/index.ssf?/base/sports/1234797371244070.xml&coll=3

I’ll have the AP story link shortly.

  11. The Mobile Press Register doesn’t link to an AP story. It links to a story that was run in the Commercial Appeal. What you claim is an AP story is blog hence the word “blog” in the link you provided you ignorant dumbass. A blog isn’t an AP story. So again I say you’re full of shit!

  12. The AP story has been on the al.com page and will be linked here shortly.

    I will expect your apology.

  13. Here is a link to a “Birmingham News” story using info from the wire story as does the Press-Register story (you will note they do not claim their info is original). I will have the wire story when it reposts after updates on al.com, but this is (so far) two newspaper stories that are NOT blogs,. The rpeorters on these stories are Gentry Estes and Ian Rapaport.

    http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/sports/123477573077620.xml&coll=2

  14. This is from the self-proclaimed “Mr. SEC” who posts from – guess where? Knoxville, TN:

“(Referring to what the Commercial Appeal alleges):Uh-oh, right? Wrong. Why wrong? ‘Cause the contact didn’t come during a recruiting dead period as suggested by The Commercial-Appeal.

Malone is a junior and coaches are allowed to be on the road during late January.”

Nobody is suppprting the Memphis paper on this. Nobody.

This also cites the AP report in the quote.

  15. I really don’t hate Tennessee, one of my daughters is a graduate, but I hate what the football program has become.

Kiffin has been there two months and turned the great tradition that was Tennessee football into a wormy pile of shit. He and his sleazy minions, including Batshitcrazy immediately came in and pissed the nation off using the premise of “boosting the fan base”.

The big problem I have, is that if it had been any other SEC team’s hire, this blog would have been on fire with a shower of abuse for that school’s idiocy. Of course, this is a Tennessee blog and it should be biased, but there comes a point where the embarassment is so great, the humiliation so fetid, that you have to nut up and say enough is enough.

I am not a Tennessee fan but I have a great deal of respect for the University and it’s tradition. Allowing this guy, who is not wet behind the ears and has a junior high resume, to trash this program, makes one question the sanity of the administration, Mike Hamilton and the Tennessee fan base.

Finally, rest assured that there are many Tennessee supporters and fans who feel the same way I do.

  16. That link is still not an AP story your flipping idiot. AP stories are attributed to the AP and states it is from the AP. This story was written by someone from the Birmingham News who is quoting a high school coach.

Also the quote that you stated in #5:

“Saban’s visit did not occur during an NCAA-mandated Dead Period, as Malone is a junior and coaches were allowed to be on the road in late January.”

isn’t in this latest version of your (false) AP story…I wonder why. Have you figured the difference between a blog and the news media yet?

    Again you’re full of shit.

Here I’ve made it easy on you here is a link to the AP and searching the word Saban. Funny this story doesn’t appear I guess because it’s not an AP story. Which is my point about you being full of shit in the first place.

  17. zigzag-

“Allowing this guy, who is not wet behind the ears and has a junior high resume, to trash this program, makes one question the sanity of the administration, Mike Hamilton and the Tennessee fan base.”

You’re right. It’s one thing to “energize the fanbase”, but why rally behind blatant stupidity and false accusations like some Tennessee Fans are doing?

One thing I don’t understand is when Kiffins made the “cheating” accusation against Meyer, why did it take another AD (Foley) pointing out that there was no rule and that Kiffins himself broke a rule? (which in turn Mike Slive reprimanded him for) Why didn’t Hamilton look into it after the Breakfast that morning and somehow at least attempt to prevent the firestorm that followed? Is it possible that he too, like Kiffins, doesn’t know the rulebook? Or did he just not want to upset Lane by correcting him? Either way, that wouldn’t sit well with me if I was a UT Fan.

  18. where did i read that Florida had 20 secondary violations last year?

  19. When the kid (Malone) was interviewed this is what he said,

“”I thought he was going to be a little taller. When he stepped out of the truck, he was so short to me, I just started laughing,” said Malone, a 6-1, 165-pound junior standout who committed to Alabama on Thursday night.

“I just started laughing, because when I watch him on TV, he always looks kind of big. I had on my Dolphins hat, and he liked my favorite team, so we kind of bonded a little bit. And when he started talking to me, I started liking the stuff that he was saying.”

“It’s gonna take a lot of pressure off. I wanted to get into a big school, and, of course, it’s in the SEC, the best conference in the nation.”

“I just wanted to get all the pressure off my back and just focus on all my academics.”

Someone should really have taught this kid to lie when being interviewed about the (illegal) recruiting process.

The most damming part of all of it is when the kid says, THEY STARTED TALKING AND HE LIKED WHAT HE (SABAN) WAS SELLING. It is obvious to anyone that is not a flaming retarded bammer that this was a recruiting violation. But just like most of them, it will be swept under the rug and forgotten about.

  20. @18:

If you have that info, please post it.

The difference here is that Meyer didn’t blast a fellow SEC Coach in front of the cameras and in doing so break a rule himself. Pay attention.

  21. ll

I read it too. If I find it, I will link it or hit you with an email.

  22. 17-Hamilton made the hire, so it is incumbent that he cover his ass. What he has to do is sit Kiffin down, which he won’t do, and tell him that shooting from the hip is unacceptable. In the meantime he and Kiffin need to take a crash course in manners as well as NCAA rules.

A part of this mess that should have the fan’s upset is the money that was thrown around by Kiffin. He gives his daddy 1.2 million which is the same as Mullen got as HC at Mississippi State. Ridiculous? To say the least.

Fulmer has to go home every night and fall on the floor with laughter.

  23. Sorry, people at the school have come out saying it was all legit. Too bad the Vols can’t catch up to Saban even when they cheat.

  24. What coach in his right mind would not say that, “they did it the right way?” Do you think the coach wants to be known as “that guy who allowed illegal contact between a college coach and a recruit” or to his administrators as “the coach who lacks control of the program?”

All this coach is trying to do is keep his job and help keep the recruit eligible. That means downplaying the incident. All the proof you need of a recruiting violation came straight from the recruits mouth. You bammers just want/choose to stay blind to these things. Just be ready when it all comes crashing down in a few years and little Nicky is off on his next job, laughing all the way to the bank, while bama is once again left holding the bag of probation and broken dreams.

  25. 23-You should.

  26. All vol fans should check out this Auburn blog. There are some real nutcases down there. Especially that AubTiger34. They still think that there going to get Oku. These fans are very delusional even more so then Alabama fans.
