Former University of Tennessee football coach Phil Fulmer’s vaunted record against Alabama apparently extends to turkeys.

On a wild turkey hunt in Alabama two weeks ago with former Tennessee head coach Bill Battle, Fulmer killed two gobblers with a single shot.

Fulmer said he thought he was drawing a bead on a single bird, only to discover two when he went to retrieve his trophy.

“I really don’t think it was a set-up. I really don’t think anyone was trying to make me feel good, especially because it was Alabama,” quipped Fulmer during a press conference prior to Saturday’s UT Orange and White game in Knoxville. Phil Fulmer 2, Alabama turkeys 0 – Kingsport Times-News Online
