Cam Newton?

Tebow can still "toss" it too.

Tebow can hit it like Cam too!!!

Why a Cam Newton post?

I just received an email from a knowledgeable insider that the Cameron Newton interest in Tennessee is very serious and very mutual.
and this AJC  link only adds fuel to the fire. http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/sports/highschool/stories/2009/04/29/cameron_newton_nfl_draft.html and then read this Swiped a laptop

My God this would send Herban Meyer over the fucking cliff.   Cause you know that Cam Newton kept his playbook. Cam is a Perfect fit for the Kiffin Pro-Style Offense.  Newton is a UF kid that Meyer sent back to Juco  for “seasoning”.  He was being groomed to replace Tebow and he was one of the reasons that Snead transferred to Ole Miss.  This phenom could challenge Cromps but will likely falter as Cam is not  nearly the QB that Cromps is….. but who really is?

Oh my, fast forward to the 12 second mark to the video below and just listen to Gary and Verne drool like half-wits.

    Jai,
Snead transferred from U of Texas to Ole Miss, not Florida.

Snead was recruited by Florida, and had committed. When Tebow signed he decommitted and went to TX. Don’t think this had anything to do with Newton.

Anyway, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Cam Newton at a couple Orange & Blue games & Gator practices before he got kicked off the team because of the laptop incident.

The kid is a beast. He’s bigger than Tebow, and may be just as good as a runner. He has a cannon for an arm, but hasn’t really been accurate when I’ve seen him. He threw a number of off-passes during the last O&B game he played.

I really, really, really hope he doesn’t go to Tennessee. He’s a good QB with the potential to be great. I’m content to let your program wallow in mediocrity up there, as long as you don’t embarrass the SEC by losing to out of conference teams like UCLA & Wyoming.

Cam is NOT a pro-style QB. He is a spread QB, just like Tebow. He does not have Tebow’s throwing skills though, as he is not very accurate.

Also, Snead did NOT transfer from Florida. He committed but then backed off when Tebow committed. He signed with Texas and then transfered to Ole Miss.

Other than all this, your post was factually accurate!

the best part of the video was the score board…Do you think Urban really sits around worrying about a team that has never beat him?

    Ryan? Simple response: YES

Snead transferred from Florida to Texas to Ole Miss so he could be the first QB taken in the 2010 NFL draft. Take it to the bank.

Like Newton or not, you gotta love it when a qb runs over a db.

Cameron should go to Kansas State for the simple fact that:

While Meyer and Rodriguez would eventually become confidants, Meyer’s most direct inspiration for his ground game came from Kansas State, where coach Bill Snyder had made a direct-snap running back out of quarterback Michael Bishop and contended for the 1998 national title. “I went out to visit Kansas State and saw what they were doing with the quarterback, and I came away from there amazed,” says Meyer. “That stuff really impacted me.”

Meyer would take ideas from Snyder and morph them into his own implementation of the spread option, at Bowling Green, then Utah, and finally Florida. If studying offenses were offered as degree, Urban Meyer would have graduated with distinction from Snyder’s Coaching U.

Cam Newton’s ordeal ended up not being about him stealing a computer. He bought it after someone posted something on a board at school. However, he was stupid in throwing the computer out the window. He has done very well since leaving UF and is probably going to end up at AUBURN (just left with a firm offer this morning).
