Gossip from a noted Bammeroid Buster
A Roid would lie even when it is easier to tell the truth…..
I am most hesitant to post this …… I will. Recently one of my ex employees, a young AA officer, returned from a foreign job. Over drinks the other night, observing hanging on the wall newspaper stories of Logan Young’s conviction,he said “Alabama is buying players again.” I told him this wasn’t true, I hadn’t heard anything from the dozen or more Memphis high school coaches who frequent our Saturday and sports functions. He said it was true, that he was good friends of the “runner”, that they can get anybody they wanted at Melrose. I reminded him of our recent signing of Melrose lb Greg King but he added that Alabama did not recruit him. He said the runner works for some big Alabama booster in Huntsville. I remember Logan Young constantly using some friend’s name of his in Huntsville, when(10 years) we were close friends. He said he would get the name of the guy; this guy took care of Thurman Thomas. I find this hard to believe but this individual is highly credible, an ex U of Memphis football player himself, and runs around in high roller, party circles. He spoke most highly of Vandy’s Cory Chavious(?),who he was with recently at some function, how well informed, knowledgable he was in sports.Please, I have NO personal knowledge of any of this; so far, purely rumor from a good friend, NOT a UT person.
