Which one is it? Is Cam Newton coming or not coming to o Tennessee.  On the Bill King’s Radio show yesterday morning,  Mike Farrell (pictured above) at Rivals said that Tennessee is not interested. How fucked must you really be to have Urban Meyer get rid of you after only one criminal offense? I think that despite the obvious character issues, the normally conservative and chaste Tennessee might just take that chance on Newton and give him a second chance. Newton Lists UT as one of his top choices

It’s all about the future, not the past for one for one Texas JC signal caller. For Georgia native Cameron Newton, a former Florida Gator quarterback, and now the current signal caller at Blinn Junior College, is looking for a new home, hopefully one back in the SEC. I caught up with Newton Thursday morning for an exclusive one on one interview about his recruitment.

It’s all about the future, not the past for one for one Texas Junior College signal caller.

For Georgia native Cameron Newton, a former Florida Gator quarterback, and now the current signal caller at Blinn Junior College, is looking for a new home, hopefully one back in the SEC.

I caught up with Newton Thursday morning for an exclusive one on one interview about his recruitment.

“Tennessee is probably recruiting me the hardest right now,” Newton explained. “I watched their game with Florida this weekend. If they had got any big plays on offense they would have won that game.”

Apparently the feelings are mutual between Tennessee and Newton.

“I have a lot of interest in Tennessee,” Newton said. “They will definitely get one of my official visits.”

According to Blinn Head Coach Brad Franchione, Tennessee has been recruiting Newton for a while.

“They came in late spring and their interest seems to be building,” Franchione said. “Tennessee definitely has a lot of interest in Cameron.”

Where does Tennessee stand currently for Newton?

“They are definitely one of my top schools,” Newton said. “Looking at Tennessee’s depth chart and see how much young talent they have, the future is definitely bright in Knoxville.”

Newton, from the Atlanta Georgia area, also realizes Knoxville would be close to home for him.

“Hands down the SEC is one of the best conferences in the country,” Newton said. “I would love to get back to the SEC.”

Other schools that are currently recruiting Newton include Tennessee, Mississippi State, Arizona, Kansas State and Iowa State.

So far Newton has led Blinn to the No. 1 ranking in NJCAA and the Buccaneers are currently 3-0.

Newton has completed 63 percent of his passes, 48 completions out of 76 attempts for 538 yards 7 touchdowns and one interception.

“He is a great leader and a winner,” Blinn offensive coordinator Ronny Feldman said. “He is definitely a big time player, looking to get back to D1 football. He’s a great one.”

It appears that Newton is still awaiting an official offer from Tennessee.

He will have to spend an one year residency at Blinn and must graduate from the Junior College.
