Dear Lane Kiffin, WHY???

Cromps and his biggest athletic supporter
Dear Coach Kiffin,
For 2 million bucks (or whatever the hell you are being paid), I expect more logic and common sense. Frankly I think you are hard headed motherfucker, we will be lucky to make Memphis or Shreveport with Mountain Boy entrusted with the keys to the offense. You can’t hope to contain the fire by letting just half the building burn. We know that this is highly unusual for a Tennessee Blogger to “pressure the coach in public to adopt our strategy”.
I can’t help but wonder if Al Davis was right? I am starting to see a scary parallel here, sticking with the dud QB Jeff Garcia: JaMarcus Russell isn’t ready, and the Raiders just don’t want to win – The Huddle: Football News from the NFL – USATODAY.com. I guess you don’t want to win at Tennessee either? Unfortunately, the quickest route to getting another quarterback taking the snaps is for Crompton to get injured.
The Vol fan base would very much like to hear from you the reasons/justification of playing Jon Crompton at quarterback over any other member of the Vol squad that is qualified to play QB. The Crompton over the past 2 seasons has consistently shown he struggles to produce positive results in the passing game when its game time. Crompton is obviously a big-time practice player but just doesn’t have it with fans in the stands. He isn’t throwing on time and is consistently staring down his receivers. He’s doing his best to not make mistakes but just can’t get in a rhythm. It should be apparent that it’s time to switch gears. I wonder if Offensive success breeds doubt and then cripples confidence? Watching this Crompton-led offense is like psychological warfare without the perks of PTSD drugs.
Kiffin, stop acting like a damn dullard. Your mouth is writing checks that can’t be cashed. On Crompton: “He’s been pleasantly surprised by senior quarterback Jonathan Crompton’s play, especially after hearing what he supposedly could and couldn’t do. Kiffin said Crompton has been on a par with most of the quarterbacks he coached at Southern California and wouldn’t be shocked to see Crompton get drafted if he stays healthy and performs this season the way he has during preseason camp.”

Look Lane, I watched your show on Sunday. It has much creditability as an Iranian Missile Test photo. You only talked about the good plays he made, those very few plays for God’s sake. Nothing about all of near interceptions or how the rest of the offense stopped blocking for his ass. Stop fucking around all ready and bench his ass. If you call another run play on 3rd and 8, I’m going to drive back to Knoxville just to shit in your yard.
It’s time to explain, in detail, why Crompton is still the QB. Perhaps this is your JFK moment?
Sincerely,
Crompton’s 3rd Read
P.S.
I just watched your show, I think you need to wear a jacket and a tie. Try and Look like a fucking pro, man. Right now you look like you sell under armour cleats at Dick’s Sporting Goods.

everyone goes left, he goes right....oblivious to the danger

Oh my, all alone

He has now moved on to fumbling the ball

I was hoping you’d write about the Nuke’Gun that went 40 yds and never saw the field again, or the dumbass call to go for it on 4th down on our own 30yd line, or the kickoff lateral that we only bothered with once, or the multiple inside the 5 failures to hit paydirt, or the same ugly offense stumbling on the field with the same gameplan even though it clearly doesnt work, or how we always lose BUT only by a few!, or how Kiffin couldnt plan to keep the offense on the field long enough to rest the defense, how we always go away from the run instead of establishing it, how he won’t have a marquee win the whole year, and finally, you did hit on why the idiot is still playing Cromptard.
Its gonna be a tough road.
kiffin needs to explain
Dear LWS.
Get off Kiffins back. Kiffin and O are putting together the best recruiting class we’ve had in 30 years (http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/). Of course we’re not gonna be good with Fulmer’s left overs, there was a reason he got canned. Its gonna take at least a couple of years for us to return to the glory days (Saban went 6-6 in his first season, even losing to Louisiana-Monroe, equivalent to us blowing UCLA).
Vols Bitch,
David Harris
I agree with the article. As an outsider looking in, these are questions I have been asking for some time. I think the man is WAY in over his head.
That said, the excuses from some for Kiffin makes this lizard heart warm. May he be the Tennessee coach for many years.
david
get off my sack, i just shaved it last night. Frankly, i was amazed at the amount of hair that was my sack. i feel better now that my boys are breathing. I think that kiffin is dicked up too. have you seen forrest cromp play football?
Jai,
stop cleaning your dick cheese and look at the what kiffins bringing in for quarter back next year, check out the play at 4:35
david,
that shit needed a serious cutting. i don’t give 2 shits about next year. I care about getting my ass to ritzy shreveport this year, if we are lucky.
I ask again: have you seen crompton play??
Jai,
Yeah I’ve seen Crompton play. The sad truth is that he’s the best we’ve got….no, no, no it’s true, crompton is the best quarteback we’ve got… Kiffin is making the right call. We’re going to blow for year, and probably next year (we’re losing our O line, McKoy and Berry). That’s the way it is. Accept it, Suck it up, your a Vol. We’re playing to ruin someone elses season right now, Fuck Bama.
During the telecast Todd Blackledge said he spoke to David Reaves about fans asking for Nick Stephens. Blackledge said Reaves told him that if fans could see Stephens in practice, they would want Crompton behind center.
Ouch.
If Crompton is our only hope, perhaps we could run more Wildcat sets or maybe 3rd Down can come out of retirement to guide the mighty Vols.
At any rate, we’re screwed. If we get bowl eligible it will be because we beat somebody we shouldn’t have. Ole Miss?
@ David Harris, good players are coming in and that’s great. They are going to have to be coached. That’s not so good. I don’t know if you have seen what Orgeron did with Ole Miss. Kiffins shows no ability to coach either. Vols will be bad this year and probably next. Hopefully 2011 will be good, maybe Houston Nutt will be available again to take the good players and coach them into a team.
@Ya Mamma, actually its dim wits like you at old miss that got Orgeron fired. The Ole Miss of this year, thats had it’s first national ranking in years, the Ole Miss that dismantled Texas Tech in the cotton bowl last year is the Ole Miss team that Orgeron built. If you’d watch the games you’d see Lane is making great play calls, there just getting botched by Crompton. Point is, you can’t start blaming Lane this early…. Give him a chance and we’ll be competing with Saban and Meyer.. IMHO
David
“Yeah I’ve seen Crompton play. The sad truth is that he’s the best we’ve got….no, no, no it’s true, crompton is the best quarteback we’ve got… Kiffin is making the right call,”
How do you know this? Have you ever seen Stephens play? In the three losses, two were within reach in the fourth quarter. What does Kiffin doe each time? Runs out the clock for the other team.
Look at all the great pub Kiffin is getting for losing. I am telling you, the man is a fracking genius!
Is that Thurman Merman all grown up behind Cromps?
Mike,
I know crompton is better than stephens b/c I’ve seen both play in games and I’ve seen them practice. Crompton is much more consistent in practice. Beyond that look at the stats, in 130 attempts last year, stephens managed to get himself sacked 13 times, crompton has a little bit more scrambling ability and is actually more accurate(plus he shaved his mustache, which sucks cause I spent the last week growing one in support). What you don’t seem to understand is how much of a decline the program was in during Fulmers last two years… Fulmer only pulled in four, 4 star recruits in 2005.
Your right though, talent isn’t everything. Crompton was a Fulmer recruiting success, seriously, he was a 4 star recruit, who was ranked 2nd for his position in the country. You can see what the Fulmer coaching staff developed him into.
Look, We’re gonna get Tyler Bray in next year, and David Reaves will develop him like he did with Garcia at Caronlina.
Kiffin running out the clock…WTF game were you watching saturday
Why do I get the feeling the wheels are already coming off in just 5 games???
Kiffin is a terrible play-caller FWIW. Monte & recruiting are the only thing we got going for us. If you ever expect to be like USC at UT and just “out talent” everyone you will be in for a long cold hell of UT football. In the SEC you need a COACH AND TALENT! USC just pummeled everyone in the past with athletes, but that will change slowly as the conference gets more publicity in smaller schools: Wash/Cal/UCLA/etc.
Im so sick of hearing about talent talent talent. Do you think a goddamn monkey could win at any school as long as it has better athletes????????? NO!!!!!! Schools with less ‘talent’ beat BCS opponents every weekend. Utah/Alabama anyone? Its about COACHING at the end of the day (and if you don’t recruit your ship will sink even faster)
Kiffin has showed no skill above Cutcliff in that area so far. I hope he finally untucks his penis from between his legs and tries to win a game next week when Georgia comes to town.
There is a natural order of things in this here world. And the natural of order of things can only be changed in one manner. Victories. Florida always wanted to talk, however we couldn’t. For far too long. Coach Spurrier did not talk for a little while. Then the trophies started piling up. Atlanta and beyond was our winter homes. Orlando was yours. And Coach Spurrier chose to remind you. And for several months now you started to talk. And it was nonsense. Many of you still think the natural order of things has changed. But your boy can’t drink, can’t fuck, and certainly can’t coach. Let the record reflect in 1990, Coach Spurrier made a decision. He decided to coach them up. A fifth stringer named Shane Matthews was COACHED. And Coach Spurrier has from Duke to the Bandits to Duke again, and at Florida, knew how to call ball plays. And so now you force us to remind you of the natural order of the world. Coach them up Mr. Kiffin. Or can you? I think we all know the answer to this. Go get your shine box.
What kind of faggot flips a bird like that? Point your middle finger like a man slim shady.
Do you think Crompton wears a disguise when he goes in public? I think that he should , cause he is more hated in KTown than Osama Bin Laden is in Tel-Aviv. He has to be the most despised player in UT history. I would feel sorry for him- except that I hate him too. He has personally ruined many saturdays for me .. When he drops back to pass ( or whatever it is ) i feel a sense of dread that I havent felt since I was in Vietnam.
What is your excuse for Ben Tate running over Eric Berry? WDE!
David,
The guy on the field is not cutting it. The coach has to go with the other guy, no matter how he looks in practice. That is, unless the coach is a complete idiot. Which may be possible, given how he ran out the clock…twice when victory was still possible
I agree with Helmuth and Gator Bob: It’s about coaching. You can pull in top recruiting classes all day long but if you can’t “coach” those kids, what does it matter? For those who think it’s all about recruiting, I’ve got 2 words for you: Ron Zook. Great recruiter, terrible coach.
Also, didn’t Fulmer have like 12 Top-5 Recruiting Classes in a row or something like that and only 2 SEC Championships to show for it?
As for Orgeron, yes, he did recruit the current stable of players at Ole Miss. But he couldn’t “coach” them at all. Thus the reason he was fired.
this aint fsu, ll. we been kicking ass for a long time, not just since 1976
Did you just speculate in this aricle about Memphis or Shreveport – for a BOWL? Really? Are you that deluded?
FSU = LOL
uhhm yes. I am delusional. Did you not see my play by play of me trimming my pubic hair?
Moondog,
It will be until at least the 2010 season when I can return. I am currently with the US National Team playing an away game.
And yes, my taint is better than Crompton.
I love the adjustments Kiffin made at halftime. He really does look better in orange.
