Herb: “I don’t condone that,”

We’re going to suspend Brandon for the first half of the Vanderbilt game. I spoke with him. That’s not who he is. That’s not who we are. He got caught up in emotion. Florida Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes suspended for first half – ESPN

I get mad when Florida is brought up because I have always hated them, but I’ve hated them X 10 but even more since they tried to gouge that poor lil dawgs eyes out Saturday. the unnecessary foot twisting in the pile up pissed me off too. they are dirty, rotten players and I won’t even say that about Alabama. despite our differences, i think both Tennessee and Alabama show good sportsmanship. now you have made me get serious too, and i don’t like that.

H. Meyer is the Coach of the University of Florida. He alone  decides who sits and who plays (Fuck you Mike Slive). He fooled all of Florida’s opponents over the years  by mixing them up for the suspended players schedules.  Florida’s foes could not know how to prepare because they didn’t know or understand what Coach Meyer would do next on sitting out his players for their crimes.

But Meyer has a reputation of sticking through life’s roughest patches with these impressionable young men. We can see that the healing process has already begun with his tatted-up, sporting dreads like a sunny summer day in Jamaica,  All America ‘Backer!!  Surely Spikes believed that he was executing one of the best plays in the Tebow playbook of Life, “The Poke”. “He’s very intense and very emotional and very (VERY) passionate,” Tebow said.  Hmmmm

That halftime suspension is going to be a huge factor in the Vandy game.  Vandy has always played Florida tough.  Vandy plays UF like they are the Vandy of your Great Grandfathers era, the Dores  are the proverbial tornado that only Brandon Spikes can tackle and then skull-fuck.   You people really need to stop second-guessing Meyer.  He knows what he is doing.

    Nice pic!

The cheap shot on Tebow 7 minutes into the game wasn’t called a penalty. Blindsiding a unsuspecting QB who handed the ball off a full 3-4 seconds earlier? When the play is already over? Pure class, Puppies:

Along with that, when the Georgia player ripped off Spikes’ helmet, it was also a non-call.

I’m not condoning what Spikes did. It was wrong. But stuff like that happens in football pile-ups. The only difference is that the TV cameras caught his eye gouge.

And if any of you think Georgia wasn’t playing dirty, you obviously did not watch the game.

first of all, Williams was the kid that hit tebow. You might be shocked to know that Williams brother is a filipino boy. You connect the dots.

Second, Spikes tries to BLIND someone by DESTROYING HIS EYES and he gets suspended for a half. Wow LL, really dude?

Little Jimmy climbs up in Santa’s lap, believing that he can give him any present that he asks for.

“Santa, the only thing I want for Christmas is to play football against the Florida Gators.” Asked Jimmy.

Santa looks perplexed, then finally answers….

“Here’s a BB gun to play with instead. Them Florida Gators will put your eye out kid!”

I have to agree with the hillbillies on this one. What Spikes did was embarrassing. What makes it worse is UF fans saying “what about the face mask? what about the late hit?” or that eye gouging happens in every pile. Look, we either hold ourselves to a higher standard or we don’t. Clearly, Spikes showed we don’t. I personally would rather have someone try and punch me in the face than gouge my eyes. Spikes should have missed at least two games and a public apology.

Please read what I wrote again:

“I’m not condoning what Spikes did. It was wrong.”

    I think that’s pretty clear.

As for the severity of the punishment, he should’ve been suspended for a game, not a half.

it’s not like he shot an ak-47 to scare somebody, or pissed “hot” multiple times or beat the hell of a chick (Tom Cable style). for the love of Tebow, he was only trying to poke out the dude’s eyes.

This is the type of behavior that lands you “Team Captain” at UF. LEAD BY EXAMPLE FELLAS!

This is what it has come to. Vol fans, in the middle of yet another dismal season, (yet somehow they have been conned into liking it), resort to worrying about what kind of punishment Florida mets out for personal fouls.

jeebus guys, what if Urban had suspended him for a whole game? What that have assuaged your angst?

stop trying to deflect your coach’s thinly veil attempt at discipline….he does this shit after every arrest or felony assault.

Baloney. He metted out punishment. You just don’t think it is enough.

Tough shit. Sucks to be a Vol right now I guess.

But I do I understand where you are coming from.

We had to suffer through the Zook years. During that time, many Gator fans worried about crap like this relative to our more successful rivals.

    Now it is your turn.

Man up and stop being a whinny little girl

  12. 2009 November 3

no baloney. he should have been suspended more than a half. you know it too. Herbs should have benched him for 2-3 games. Saved him for the SECCG vs Bama.

Too bad that slive doesn’t have the stones to do something

Florida Gators justice, Tennessee Volunteers jerseys and Georgia Bulldogs helmets hit The Dash – ESPN

As far as being a Vol? Looks like Kiffin fixed the broke Cromps. I never believed that was possible to say that I wish Ocho was coming back next year. Looks a bit better than Zook

Bro, get a clue. Had the officials seen it, they would have thrown a flag. 15 yard penalty. They might have also thrown Spikes out of the game. Guess what, that means he would have missed the 1st half of the next game. Just like Foley, Meyer and Slive all agreed to do.

Everybody agrees it was a bad thing Brandon did and that it deserves punishment. You are just being a whinny girl, crying the punishment is not enough. Tough shit.

And keep drinking the koolaid about Kiffin. His record right now is worse than Zook’s record during the same period. I predict there will be a point in time when you will wake up and think, “Man that Kiffin has been feeding us a load of shit. He keep promising championships but all we get are 5-3 and 4-4 kind of SEC records.”

    Just like Zook.

  14. 2009 November 3

Little too early to say Kiffins ‘n Bits is better than the Zooker was at Florida. Zook once beat 3 straight Top-11 teams (2003) and beat UT in Knoxville.

I think UT will be competitive as long as Monte is there because their defense will pick up the slack if their offense sputters. And if that tall QB from California turns out to be any good, they might be pretty tough in the coming years. Of course, this is assuming that Little Kiffin can coach.

Hey Jai, what’s the word on NuKeese? He’s upset about his playing time?

  15. 2009 November 3

Nuke was homesick, a bit upset over reps. it is all i know right now

Notice all the fuckfaces saying eye gouges happen “all the time” aren’t fucking ballplayers. I think Golic set the record straight that claims that this happens “all the time” are bullshit. Perhaps Gator football players finger each other all the time but if this eye gouging was a regular occurance we’d see guys coming out of games holding their eyes every Saturday.

Another thing for you dickheads who think this bullshit happens regularly. Rob Reynolds from Ohio State pulled simliar shit on Sorgi crushing his throad during an OSU – Wisconsin game. Directly because of this incident Reynolds saw his draft status go from round 2-3 to being the very last pick of the fifth round. Spikes may be good enough where he won’t suffer the same fate but let’s hope he does.
