Vols Kick Richardson, Edwards Off Team – ESPN Video

It seems like just yesterday that coach Kiffin put a recruiting whipping on those south Florida boys and then called Herban Meyer a ‘cheat’.

Today?  Lane Kiffin is  spinning, juking and jiving so he can go in again and harvest some more blue chippers out of fertile South Florida.  Just like last year when we went down and plucked Nu’keese from Pahokee at the last minute by taking him away from UF, FAU, UCF, USF, FSU, FIU and FAMU.

Sure it is a crying shame that Nu’keese had to go. He did learn a college  life-skill during  his brief time at Knoxville.  When he goes back to hunting rabbits in Pahokee,   he can use a pellet gun instead of chasing hares  through the sugar cane.  Prospects down in Pahokee will intuitively  know that Tennessee make Nu’keese a better  person despite being arrested.  Kiffin can build on this fact, thus making  a negative a positive.

That new recruiting tactic will  aid Tennessee immensely:  ” we may shitcan them, but they learn a skill anyway”!!

After a Kiffin beatdown special on Vandy,  Tennessee fans will forget about Nu’keese and his hamburgerlers.

  1. Long bus ride home for these lads, if the locals let them leave the state. If the DA sez don’t leave town, they’ll probably be living out under some overpass until their court date robbin’ the drive through folks at Popeyes. No alumni gonna give them any apt money.

Long way to fall in such a short time. They both could at least end up play’n special teams for the CFL someday maken .80 on the dollar, now it’s doing the time then back live’n with grandma.

  2. Another Vol in trouble with the law

Tennessee freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver was charged with theft by shoplifting just hours before the Vols hosted Memphis on Nov. 7.

Oliver is the fourth UT football player from the 22-member 2009 signing class to be involved in a police incident. He joins receiver Nu’Keese Richardson and defensive backs Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards, who were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery on Nov. 12, five days after Oliver was cited.

The citation was issued at Dillard’s department store in West Town Mall at 1:45 p.m. The UT-Memphis game kicked off at 7 p.m.

He was cited to court after a police officer spotted him trying to conceal a brown polo shirt worth $110 in a Dillard’s bag.

Oliver, 18, will make a court appearance on Nov. 23.

Oliver has played in one game this season, against Alabama on Oct. 24.

Oliver had an odd recruitment. He originally committed to UT in June under former coach Phillip Fulmer. He changed his mind and committed to Notre Dame in October after Fulmer was fired. Then, he committed to UT again just days before signing with the Vols on National Signing Day in February.

  3. Fuck that Mike. Kid needs to go home and learn some manners. We don’t steal shit in Tennessee

  4. It looks as if UT is expanding its Criminal Empire into retail . . . look out Food Court!!! Hamburglars at Dillard’s!!!!!

  5. Kiffin should be applauded for giving those two hoodlums the boot. but he should have his ass kicked for recruiting the thugs in the first place.

    Meyer laughs his ass off.

  6. In his defense, it is commonplace to not pay for things in Memphis. That’s just M-Town.

  7. wHAT DOES A 10 mILLION $ CHEESEBURGER LOOK LIKE. Janzen Jackson ,in effect, gave up 10 million for a cheeseburger. ( must be one heck of a good burger) JJ ( if he had stayed in the dorm that fateful night) was a lock to be a first-round pick in 2-3 years. There should no argument about that. First rounders get 7-15 million of GUARANTEED MONEY, even if they blow out a knee on the treadmill the first day of camp. What the fook was he thinking? Even if he is allowed to return next year ( a definite possibility) his draft status will never recover from this fiasco. Bless his heart. I really feel sorry for the kid- but he brought this situation on himself.

  8. Leviticus 1:1-Kiffin lied.

He stated that Tennessee had not had a player arrested in 11 months. I can understand the bad timing of three players being arrested the very next day, but the fact of the matter is, Kiffin knew that he was fudging the truth a bit on that one.

  9. I will not coach at the university of alabama. Stfu

  10. Oliver was “cited” for shoplifting, not arrested. A subtle difference? Maybe to you and me, but their is a distinct legal difference. Oliver faces much lower legal sanctions than if he were arrested for felony shoplifting or larceny.

That said, It’s the wrong thing to do and he was suspended for a game for it. As a former UT student, I can also tell you he’s got to face a student discipline board that will levy it’s own sanctions against him. If he fails to meet those and the Coaches’ expectations he will most certainly be off the team.

Let’s not act like this was a Newton situation. Besides, Kiffin is just under Meyer’s pace of arrests per year.

  11. Oh please, lawya! He’s got kids failing drug tests, shoplifting and robbing people, and he’s not been forthcoming about any of it.

  12. Irony, we’re being lecutred on ethics by a bama fan.

  13. In typical UT Fan fashion, they point the finger at the Gators when the negative focus is on them (Mac B). You guys need therapy for being so obsessed with a school that considers you their 4th best “rival”.

  14. LL,

The Gators are in their heads!

  15. Ya Mamma – Please point me to a coach that openly advertises every minor infraction that is handled in house? You damn sure can’t name one in the SEC.

LL- I’d point to Bama but I have to admit that Saban does a good job keeping his players out of trouble (or at least out of the papers).

  16. Jimmy johns and javy areanas say hello

  17. Every program has problems…kids will be kids no matter where they are. The only difference is that TN has a coach that boasts that they have no disciplinary problems. It feels good to rub someone like that’s nose in it.

  18. Typical UT inferiority complex and jealousy…we rob, flunk drug tests, and steal. So, instead of facing the UT problems you just drag other programs under the bus to try to justify what you do. You keep bringing up FL and Al like they’re your daddies & your role models, in hopes that other people will associate you
with them. It won’t work. UT is trash and will always begat trash. Give respect where respect is due and keep your loser mouths shut.
