The Charlie Weis clock is now ticking to its proverbial ending. It all started on Saturday night after the Irish lost to Pittsburgh 27-22 and it’s long flight back to South Bend. Sunday morning Weis was called in to Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick’s office at 9:30 am, where he was told something. Whether he is staying or going, has not been made publicly, but the final nail seems to have been nailed shut.

Meyer didn’t make the “dream job” statement after last year’s National Championship Game. He made it weeks before in a radio interview.

I think Notre Dame will throw all it can at him, but I think he’ll stay.
As was the case with Spurrier, fans of other SEC schools would love to see the current Gator Coach leave because they have such a hard time beating him on the field.

All that Skoal is getting to you. Why would he want to leave? Have you not seen how Florida has recruited over the past 4 years?
Currently, Florida has the #1 Recruiting class in the Nation with 10 ESPNU 150 Recruits (with 7 of those in the Top 33). Also, are you not aware that the QB taking over next year broke all of Tebow’s HS Records, is a much better pure passer and was the Gatorade National Player of the Year in High School? Wait, who am I kidding? You already know all of that because you already know everything about Florida Football and that Meyer is leaving because Finebaum said so, right???
It’s funny how people think Meyer’s success is tied strictly to Tebow and think that because Tebow’s Florida career is over that UF is going to become a middle-of-the-road team overnight. Meyer’s won 2 National Championships with 2 completely different teams.
First it was “The spread will never work in the SEC.”
Next it was “Well…. he won with Zook’s Players.”
Then it was “Tebow’s just a running Quarterback, he can’t pass.”
And after that it was “Yeah, Tebow may be good but he won’t make it as a QB in the NFL.” (who cares)
And now it’s “But Meyer is gonna leave for Notre Dame because it’s his dream job.”
