If you are wanting to be a pudgy, pasty, redneck flake hipster douche and impress people with your cock-marker college football acumen and poor tastes, Alabama and Florida is for you. If you like Alabama football or are looking for the fast-track for future spousal abuse, then sure why not. However, If you love college football and doing things the right way….the honest way….an honest day’s pay for honest day’s work, then you MUST support the University of Tennessee. MDVs are back in vogue.
Some Tennessee fans may not be excited about this hire (fuck them to all to hell, traitors). They wanted a sexy name like a Will Muschamp or a Jon Gruden. First of all, neither of those guys were coming. Secondly, you have to understand that with this hire AD Mike Hamilton had to go with stability and competence over flash. Tennessee didn’t need somebody to win the press conference.
Dooley hire a triumph of substance over style | Mr. College Football
You can believe what some of the personification of what is wrong and evil with College Football: the Gators and Bammeroids, are saying about Dooley. These catchphrase spewing jackasses whose inexplicible popularity gave rise to every “looking the other way” and “everybody is doing it” and “let’s win no matter the cost” phrase spewing jackasses that followed. Urban Meyer I am looking right at you. (Herb, Do you want another french fry?). As such, Alabama is pretty much solely responsible for the decline of the SEC Football, and College football in general.
Or you can read WHAT THESE NO-NOTHINGS ARE SAYING ABOUT Derek Dooley:
“Derek is a very articulate, bright guy. He’s a great coach and a hard-working guy. He was always a very good recruiter in college, which I think is paramount if you’re going to have success as a college coach.”
– Nick Saban, University of Alabama Head Football Coach
“Derek is exactly what I hoped he would be. As far as I am concerned, he has exceeded everyone’s expectations, including the 65,000 alumni (at Louisiana Tech). He is making people stand up and take notice of Louisiana Tech.
What we have is a man who has a vision for this program and this university; he wants to make it something special. He has a plan. It is an energetic, aggressive plan, and I could not be more proud to have him as our AD and our football coach.”
– Terry Bradshaw, former Louisiana Tech and Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback, on Dooley’s tenure at Louisiana Tech
“Coach Dooley is such a bright person. He’s made me a better person on and off the field. He’s made me focus every day on every aspect of the game. As a coach, he makes you the best player you can possibly be. He’ll coach you like you’ve never been coached, and he’ll push you to your maximum potential. He is a phenomenal teacher.”
– Randy McMichael, St. Louis Rams Tight End
“He’s the kind of coach that’s got a lot of energy, and he’s somebody that you can relate to on a personal level. He’s great at giving advice while being upbeat at the same time. There aren’t many coaches that will let you have fun while getting the job done at the same time. He has the ability to get that out of you.”
– Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts Running Back
“I really admire and look up to him. Not only is he a great coach, but he is a great man. He comes from a background of tradition of winning, and he represents what you expect from in a coach. You can believe and fully trust him. He is a high-character man and a player’s coach.”
– Robert Royal, Cleveland Browns Tight End

His hair cannot be underestimated, or under-appreciated.
“Coach Dooley is such a bright person.”
Holy fuckin’ shit!
You guys hired the new Mr. Rogers!
Dooley is a clone of Dan Mullen but without the hump.
BTW, he and $aban have the same hair dresser.
Winners don’t go 17-20 a La Tech. Dooley is Ron Zook with a law degree. God your school sucks.
Kiffin is swallowing The Gimp, as I type.
Dooley as a person…good
Dooley as a SEC coach…laughable
Congrats Vols on your new hire. We’ll be taking over the state title for years to come.
BTW media is reporting that the Utah coach WAS offered the UT job – and turned it down.
Did Ute know that?
Any coach with half a functioning brain recognized the shit bomb that Kiffikins detonated at UT. Combine that with the worst AD of any major school in the FBS and you have the ultimate prescription for FAIL!!!!
It will take years to recover from his tenure and that may be complicated by NCAA sanctions. No coach with any decent prospects in their current position would take on a task like that, hence all the “Thanks, but no thanks” from around the country.
Kiffy now gets to play in a much less competitive conference. I can’t wait to see how screwed up USC becomes. Admittedly, Carroll may have left Lame a giant pile of crap to step in also, but then karma can be a real bitch sometimes.
So you despise Alabama and their coach, then you use a quote from Saban to prove your point that Dooley is a great guy? Huh?
Terry Bradshaw? Sweet Jesus!!
LL I was thinking the same thing. That is the truly sad condition of UT football in the 21st century. You can’t even hate them anymore. It’s just pathetic.
“You can’t even hate them anymore”?
Nobody hates Tennessee, they just laugh at them.
