Good Lord…
Vice Adm. Norb Ryan, Jr., MOAA’s president, speaking on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” national morning television show this morning, said, “Our military people are the only weapon system that has never let us down, and the Senate should pass the small extra pay raise boost recommended by the U.S. House of Representatives — 1.9 percent vs the Pentagon-proposed 1.4%.”
Even the 1.9% pay raise would still be the lowest military pay raise in nearly 50 years – at a time when the country is demanding ever more wartime sacrifice from military people and families.
MOAA has been the strongest advocate on Capitol Hill for higher military pay raises for many years. We believe military people are the most overworked people in the country, and that this modest extra pay growth is the least our nation can do to recognize that.

One of the tools to recruit me 35 years ago was if you do 20, Uncle Sugar will provide you with medical care for life. I did 23 years, wasn’t a ground pounder, and still left 80% disabled. You can’t be in two wars for 10 years, have the number of disabled vet’s leaving the service that have to be cared for for the rest of their life for putting their lives on the line and then turn around and say our vetern’s health care is too expensive, that’s BS. We’ll have to stand along side with MOAA to fight this fight every year going forward.
