I think that Dooley is a marketing genius. Why? He has managed flip the traitorous and raucous Vol fanbase focus away from depth charts, losses, injuries and second half adjustments to a more collegial discussion of uniform design.
We now face our greatest test as we stand on the precipice of a civil war inside the Tennessee family. This coming Saturday will force every Tennessee fan to make a decision; stand with Coach Dooley or stand against him. Coach Dooley and the Vols have no interest in listening to the whining criticisms of Tennessee turncoats. Did anyone notice our style last weekend against our hapless victim Alabama? That white on white road uniform was the conservative yet explosive fashion statement of the season. Just like our offense, you see the uniform, and think, same old Tennessee, then bam! You see the finer points of orange piping on the game pants commemorating the finest legend of a man (Phillip Fulmer and John Majors) one brother of Tennessee can follow!

Who knew the Coach Dooley’s uniform changes would be so aesthetically complex? This weekend it is rumored but has not been confirmed that Dooley is breaking out the black jerseys yet again for the Gas Pumpers. All I know is that the message boards are alive with the discussion of whether the black is classy and traditional. History says that black was worn in the wars prior to General Neyland (see the pic above). So there you go, black is both classy and traditional. Besides Bray and Da’Rick are tweeting that the fans “wear black” this weekend. Sounds like they got some “insider” information.
Does anyone think that Dooley will sport some expensive black slacks too?

What the black jerseys may or may not look like.
Does anyone recall what happened the when Kiffin electrified Neyland with the black shirts on that memorable Halloween night? Neyland was rocking! It made me feel funny in my crotch as the 100000 plus of Vol faithful chanted “Pump that Gas”! Spurrier left Tennessee yet again with his head bowed and another loss to those gritty Riflemen. Maybe South Carolina will wears some of those hospital split down the back gowns Saturday. It’ll make things easier for us.
Go Vols! Oregon is a bunch of ducks and not good fashionistas at that!
