“Is Tennessee not an option for the younger brothers of former Vols star Eric Berry?

Elliot Berry, a U.S. Air Force All-American, told MaxPreps that he has been offered by and has been hearing from Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Florida.

But not the Vols?

“Nothing,” the 6-foot-0, 200-pound linebacker from Creekside (Ga.) High said. “They fired the coach (Charlie Baggett) that has our area.”

According to reports, Baggett officially retired in December. Berry says he has not heard from Tennessee since then.

Keithon Redding, a receiver from Columbia (Decatur, Ga.), had a similar experience. He committed to Tennessee in July but backed off his pledge following Baggett’s departure.

“I made my commitment based on Coach Baggett because I had a real close relationship with him,” Redding told the Times Free Press two weeeks ago. “My commitment was based on him, really, but once he left, everything seemed to change for me. It’s like I lost contact with Tennessee once he left.”

It’s widely expected that Elliott and twin brother, Evan, will attend college together. Furthermore, most have assumed the pair would follow in brother Eric’s footsteps and head to Knoxville.

Evan went so far as to reportedly commit to Tennessee as an eighth grader. That commitment later proved premature.
