If I were Jason Garrett I would be looking over my shoulder. Jerry Jones sent a shocking message to Garrett, Cowboys players and the NFL that road for the NFC East and the Super Bowl will run through Dallas in 2013.
Following the NFL trend of hiring hotshot college coaches (e.g., Chip Kelly and Doug Marrone), Dallas owner Jerry Jones reached out to former Tennessee coach Derek Dooley and snatched him away from other NFL suitors. Dooley will coach wide receivers and be the “head coach in waiting” for Dallas.
As we warned throughout the 2012 season, Tennessee ran the risk of Dooley quitting, and he did. We also warned that Dooley would eventually land in the NFL, which he did. Now we are putting Jason Garrett on notice that mediocrity and a lack of attention to detail will be his downfall with Dooley on the Cowboys staff.
I promise this: Dooley will ensure that garbage cans will be properly aligned on the practice field. Make no mistake, the Dooley hiring will send shockwaves through the NFL
