Things are looking to get really interesting this Saturday when the Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the Tennessee Volunteers. This conference match up pits two of the most solid teams in the area against each other in a very anticipated game. The Bulldogs have the advantage on the week 7 with a -3 point advantage according to the college football odds but this is anyone’s game for the week.
Tennessee, while not as intimidating of a team as Mississippi State at the moment, has a solid record at 3-2. Where they have been faltering is in division games, where they have lost the only two they have played. They will need to give it their all in their sixth game of the season against an undefeated Bulldogs team that does not seem to be slowing down. If the Volunteers can pull out a solid game from their defense they may be able to get the pressure on Mississippi state needed to get the win and cover.
As for the Bulldogs, all they need to do is stay their course and they should be able to cover their points while picking up a victory. Things have been looking up for the Bulldogs this season and they want to keep it that way. Playing a home game against a struggling team like Tennessee should be small potatoes for them. They need to play like it is a bowl game though and not get too arrogant. Otherwise they could be looking at their first loss of the season and this would not sit well with their loyal fans.
Anything can happen this Saturday when the Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the Tennessee Volunteers. While all signs point to a Mississippi win, do not be surprised if the Volunteers find a way to win a close match up.
